Has it been that much already?
And it took that much to break up the "Top two" and turn it into the "Big Three"
Um...how will we ever get to "the fab four"

Doing a good job there mate.
Seriously though.
Very few people actually realised how badly off we were under Bates.
I posted several good, informative, articles on here from the Chelsea Action Group that kept (as well as they could) an eye to the actual dealings that went on behind the scenes.I think most thought i was bonkers.
We were in a bad situation, no money was going to come in, Gallas was off to Barca and Terry was going to have to take the line up North to train.
Others would have been off one by one during the season as the money men demanded payment. We would have gotten a fraction of their actual worth as well.
We had a freehold on the ground and the CPO ( Chelsea pitch owners), another PLC, actually owned the playing surface - although there was some worry that it was sold to CV under another guise and "loaned" back to the CPO.Point being if the developers came in for the Village because of default it could have been gone as well.
There wasn't going to be any new players coming in - none of worth anyway.
We were one season removed from an FA Cup final and another from actually winning the Cup and going to the quater-finals of the Champions league.
Those were great days and the 3-1 win over Barcelona was a fantastic night.
Sadly it looked like we would be going to the likes of Priestfield instead of the Nou Camp for the foreseeable future.
The Euro Bond payment that was due in 2007 looked like an impossible dream, never mind preposterous thoughts of challenging for a title.
Old Ken was being investigated for his links to Tollman and the dealings he had in America.Tollman was and still is, wanted by the FBI.
The exact connection to him with Bates may never be known, even today - but it was just another nail in the soon to be closed coffin lid that was Chelsea football club.
Today we are second in the league, with a good chance of staying there to automatically qualify for yet another (hopefully amazing) run at the bloody thing again next season.
It has taken an historic effort from Arsenal to deny us the title this season. That may or may not be repeated next season, but, what is certain is that we will be challenging for the honour of being called the best team in the land.
Class players come and will continue to come to us.
And the only thing Terry goes up the line now for is to check out the latest club that has invited him to opening night ;)
So, yes, i am quite happy with the way things have turned out this season thank you very much.

Clanblue, but what happens if ranieri leaves and, say, mourinho comes in and says - i want him, him, him and him and thats a new team to have to gel together again?

This season was (and still is for two more games), amazing. All along, I was someone who simply wanted to see steady improvement and an improved squad. What we ended up with was exactly that. It is only going to get better. Going from qualification on the last day of last season to a semi-final that we had a legitimate shot at is an unbelievable accomplishment. Yes we spent alot of money, but thankfully it was for the most part spent on young talent that will flourish with Chelsea. Look at Wayne Bridge and Glen Johnson last year, now look at where they are now? Joe Cole has really stepped up his game lately. Parker hasn't really gelled with the squad just yet, but as evidenced by his Charlton days (and his young player of the year award) he's only going to improve. This not even mentioning the leaps and bounds taken this season by our co-Players of the Year, IMO. Terry and Lampard were the heart of Chelsea, and despite their age led the team with class.
No we will not have a trophy to show for this season, and yes people will say that's not a success given money spent. I, and hopefully many others, look at this as simply a bump in the road of the building process. I am excited to hopefully finish second, then I can't wait for next season to begin - did I mention I'll be in London for 3 months? What to do about finding tickets....

If you are only here for 3 months a season ticket is not good, the best option is to join the club as a member, members get first chance to buy tickets after season ticket holders and before they go on general sale.
See the club web site for details on how to become a member.

Forgive this question but how much do they tickets to a football match usually cost over in England?
Out here for MLS they are about 15 US dollars per ticket.
There are summer matches with a few British teams and those are about 50 US dollars per ticket.
Just wondering how much it costs over there, thanks.

please. chelsea had a successful season. they made it to the semis in the best footie championship in the world. How could that not be a success. Add to that the fact that its a young team, and you have to give Ranieri major props.
getting mourinho would be a big mistake. keep CR.
