Forms a ‘Perfect Union’ by Partnering with Comcast-Spectacor
CHESTER, PA (July 13, 2009) — When Philadelphia Union opens for business in the Spring of 2010, the expansion Major League Soccer (MLS) club will kick off with an experienced and proven partner. Keystone Sports and Entertainment LLC, the ownership group of Philadelphia Union, today announced the formation of a comprehensive partnership with Comcast-Spectacor, the Philadelphia-based sports and entertainment company.
“Comcast-Spectacor is well known for creating the type of memorable guest experiences that we are determined to provide for our dedicated supporters,” said Keystone Sports and Entertainment and Philadelphia Union CEO and Operating Partner Nick Sakiewicz. “There are many synergies between our two organizations, but this long-term relationship is founded upon a mutual commitment to producing world-class events. We can’t imagine a better partner to help us service our fans and carry out our vision along the Delaware River waterfront.”
In conjunction with Philadelphia Union, Comcast-Spectacor will utilize the expertise of three separate entities to manage the new 18,500-seat stadium, provide food and beverage concessions and catering, and support Union ticket sales.
Are they likely to be the sponsors then?

Are they likely to be the sponsors then?
Not necessarily. It's just a case of hiring people to run your stadium who already have experience running pretty much every other stadium around.

CSC is the stadium facilities/concession operating group. It's pretty much a no-brainer to use them since they work most of the stadiums in the area.
Does it mean Comcast Sportsnet broadcasting? no. Comcast Stadium? no. Comcast kit sponsorship? no.
Could it? Maybe.
Stay tuned.

Ah. My only experience with Comcast is WAY overpriced cable and their Sportsnet broadcasting.

Global Spectrum = They are running the facility (this has been talked about since Fall 2008 when I was interning there. I also saw Peter Luuko, Tim Murphy, and Ike Richman at the "Team Name Announcement" at City Hall which kind of was a give away).
New Era Tickets = Helping with sales
Ovations Food = Food distributor for the stadium
... Next logic step is to sign a deal for Comcast Sports Net to broadcast the games.

I don't think Direct Kick are blacked out at all anywhere, but I've never purchased it. Anyone with experience (i.e. with Direct Kick, but living in an MLS market)?

Thanks cupid, but (1) I'm married and (2) I'm almost old enough to be his mother. But don't tell anyone. It might freak them out to have an old broad on the board.

Wow, so far this week I've been:
1. Succubus = an ugly demon who kills men with sex
2. Cougar = an old woman who likes young men
3. Fat Slob = not from you guys, a rival baseball coach laid that one on me
4. Witch = hag
Hmm, they're all so flattering, I'm not sure which I prefer. :D
