On April 28 agroup of Salvadorean fans showed up with banners protesting against the Salvadorean Soccer Federation. They also handed out panflets explaining their reasons. They say they are fed up with all the scandals sourrounding all the members of the board. From stealing money to poor performance, coruption, and some of you may remember the ZIMBABWEGATE.
El Salvador has lost 2 friendlies in a row - 3 -0 at home agaist Guatemala and 2 - 0 agaist Colombia at RFK. The team is getting ready to face Bermuda in the first round of Concacaf.

I was actually in El Salvador last week, so I read about the corruption issues.
But you can't really protest about the recent results -- Salvador is simply lacking in this moment the talent necessary to compete in CONCACAF.

You are totally right and that is one of the points the group has: El Salvador should pull out of this Germany 2006 because we don't have a competitive team. In the mean time, start from the beginning, reorganize the whole soccer structure. The fans are simply tired of the people in charge doing nothing for soccer, just stealing the money, sitting around doing a mediocre job.
The group is not protesting because of the recent losses, this are just good opportunities to denounce those crooks. And thats not the end of it either, on May 12 El Salvador is set to play Haiti in Houston Tx. and the group is already planning to be there.
Hey thanks for paying attention.

As a DC United fan, I wish you would get your act together since we are destined to have a Salvadoran on our roster till the end of time.
But as a USMNT fan, I hope you keep on sucking. :)

You guys do have a good chance to qualify for the Hex this time around, however. You won't finish ahead of us, but Panama is a minnow and Jamaica, while they will be the heavy favorites to finish second, are very beatable, particularly on the road (and if it comes down to goal difference between ES and Jamaica, I'd give you guys the edge since I can see us beating them 4- or 5-0 at home, can't see us doing the same to ES only because you'll be playing bunkerball).

You are so right on the term BUNKERBALL, because that's exactly what our team does when facing a stronger oponnent.
We want that to change, we need to develop better players. The whole soccer structure has to be changed in El Salvador. We want people with a vision for the future of soccer in our country, we need to outs all the crooks that rule our federation now days.
We will be back .... some day.

Here in Los Angeles there are a lot of Salvadoreans. I noticed that a lot of people from El Salvador dont back their team. At the moment El Salvador is not playing a high level of soccer, so alot of people just turn their backs to them. I have lots of Salvadorean friends and all of them root and cheer for other teams. You guys have to show love for your team, in the good times and bad.

the sad part about that is their best players and talent dont even play with the national team. They only been able to mustard a Cteam for their qualifiers which shows how bad curruption is going on out there.

Panama could take El Salvador's scalp too!
Here are some results from Jamaica/El Salvador in recent times. As much as history has nothing to do with the future outcome of the game, we feel we still have ES ticket.
Jamaica won 1-0 (1997)
Jamaica won 2-0 (1998)
Jamaica won 1-0 (2000)
Jamaica won 1-0 (2001)
El Salvador won 1-0 (2001)
Jamaica won 3-0 (2003)
US beating Jamaica by 4 or 5. That will happen after our team is out of training and we give you a warm up opportunity as happened in NJ in 2002. In actual world cup qualifier, only in your dreams that will happen!
USA will be beaten in Jamaica on the 18 of August, and you should win the return in November. You are not as strong as you want to believe. Imagine, having to scramble to beat Grenada 3-2. It will be very different with the Reggae Boyz my friend. Very different!

Like all the other times Jamiaca has defeated the US?

Did you see the pitch that game was played on? (obviously not, so why am I asking?) The torrential downpour was the only thing that Grenada had going for them. Once the field became a giant, soupy mess passing the ball was almost impossible. You could see before the rain started (even though it was already pretty wet) that we were completely dominating. On a dry field they would have lost by at least 4 goals.

I see you are caught up in history. Firstly the historical data does not give any indication of what will happen in the future. The current Jamaican team is stronger than it has been than any time in our history. The JFF also announced today that Sabastiao Lazaroni, former Brazilian national coach will be assuming responsibilities for the Reggae Boyz with immediate effect. Current coach Carl Brown will act in a supporting capacity.
Continue living in the past Dixie. Those draws and victories will certainly help you on 8/18.

If you were to follow the discussion, you would see how it got off topic. The title issue of this thread is dead anyway.
