With the announcement of the full list of pre-season friendlies, and the recent release of some of the scheduled televised games, I've officially gotten pumped up for the 2009-2010 season. While it's been less than 2 months since the season ended, it seems like forever, and I can't wait to see Arsenal Football Club back on the pitch.

There are many reasons to be excited for the upcoming season.
-Full season of Arshavin
-Return to full fitness for Rosicky (fingers crossed) and Eduardo
-Theo making another big step in improving his game (last year he showed glimpses, but injuries really hurt his progress).
-Jack Wilshere

Add on...

I'm looking forward to seeing what we are capable of when we actually have our best players available. Of course this will only last until the end of August and the rest of the season will be like having Ferrari with a flat tire.

Wow. You're in mid-season pessimism form already? Have you been training? :)

I dunno, I find myself every year at this time wishing the lads had a longer break. Cesc will get what, a three week break? Too many injuries as a result...

I don't think we'll be lifting any silverware this season, but with RvP signing an extension, I'm ready to see him on fire, partnered with a full-season Arshavin and a second season Nasri. I guess overall I am looking forward with interest to see how Wenger deploys Nasri with a full team.

Cesc didn't play a great deal last year so the shorter break shouldn't affect him too much.

Best thing about this is that we don't even have to wait for the season to officially start.

How do you figure? He was tired and worn out at the beginning of last season following the Euros, and that was only having been a 60th minute for Aragones. Add to the travel and a more prominent role in the Spanish team this summer, and the only comparisons we can make between seasons are bad ones.

He played at the Euros after a pretty full season with us. This time around he had only played for a month and a half before going off to the Confed Cup (which was 5 games).

There is really no reason for him to still show signs of fatigue when we kick off in August.

tho im not banking on it, if Ramsey can take a bigger foothole in the squad, it would be great

I just want better seasons from nearly everyone

mostly Rosicky... I really believe he is the difference between a title winning side, and us being in the same position...

that's asking a lot from Rosicky. I think a better defensive mid is more important than rosicky being fit, especially now that we have arshavin for a full year.

don't really see how Ramsey is going to make a big step this year. he should get plenty of run outs in the carling cup, and possibly the fa cup.. but unless we have a lot of injuries, i can't see him playing much in the league, aside from late substitution appearances.

This is not the same Arsenal that won the league undefeated. It's a different beast, we rely on, nay DEPEND on ball retention, quick passing and movement, and clinical fnishing. We're not the break neck counter attackers we were, but I think we're one piece away from being as effective in our newfound footballing style. That piece may already be in house, as I have a great deal of faith in Song and Denilson making "the leap," but I wouldn't mind bringing another body in. However, with Cesc, Nasri, Arshavin, and Rosicky ready to take hold of the ball and never give it back, I'm actually looking towards a pretty big year for the Gunners.
