An interesting sidebar for those who don't follow the CHL
The Mississauga Ice Dogs are the team that Don Cherry owned. The team's record while Cherry was in charge:
1998/99 16 points
1999/00 21 points
2000/01 15 points
2001/02 32 points (Cherry coached)
After Cherry sold the team:
2002/03 60 points
2003/04 83 points (OHL finalists)
I don't mind Cherry, but, um, I'm just going to let the stats speak for themselves!

Looks like it'll all be "big" teams at the Cup. How'd Kelowna do?

Gatineau 3-1 over the Medicine Hat Tigers.
You'd think they could find an actual Francophone to do the French PA, it sounded ridiculous.

Host teams should not be allowed into a tournament this important. While the other three teams were battling to earn their way in, Kelowna got to sit back, rest and prepare. All while knowing that they would have home ice advantage to boot.
It cheapens the cup when a host team (who didn't actually qualify to get there) wins.
