I'm planning to make the trip for Aug 29 game from Toronto.
Other than the Needle tower thing, what else is there to do for tourist stuff in Seattle?
looking for recommendations on restaurants, pubs, something nightlife, sight seeing, etc
thanks

I'd recommend Pioneer Square for nightlife, restaurant and bars which is not very far from Qwest Field.

It has been stickied before, however the site admins really do not want more than 3 stickies per board. I just need free time to re-work a few threads that will remain sticky to point to other threads that would otherwise be sticky. Make sense?

shorty's on second ave in belltown is one of the best bars in seattle. in fact, that area in belltown of 2nd and 1st ave is probably the best spot in seattle for a good nitelife scene. from upscale to gritty, from dancing to sports, it's the spot. as for touristy stuff, i recommend the underground tour in pioneer square, visiting bruce lee's grave on capitol hill, jimi hendrix's grave in renton, riding the ducks, catching a show at either neumo's on capitol hill or the crocidile in belltown, visit the museum of flight in the sodo, grab a beer at seattle's oldest punk rock bar- the funhouse (but be prepared to hear some truely awful music, as it's truly punk in that the musicians are usually drunk off their asses, lol!), get a skateboard and skate down pine street through traffic from broadway to about 5th ave, cruise down "the ave" in the u-district, and visit the pro shop in pacific place because you know after you visit qwest field and watch the mighty mighty sounders, you'll be a convert and headed back to toronto decked out in rave green chanting " i'm sounders till i die. i know i am, i'm sure i am, i'm sounders till i die!!!!" :p

not gonna happen, but I am very open to bribes ;)
I am however, willing to trade scarves with someone from ECS :)

Love that place. I used to tend bar right below at the Cyclops. Good place to visit for you out of towners.

Sorry. I know you're doing your best and you are doing a good job. In a vacuum it ought to be stickied, but I understand that you have other considerations that we may not be aware of.

Agreed. I mean, holy cow, this is the 12th post and I've got to be the one who mentions that taking a ferry from Colman Dock is a must. It's 35 minutes to Bainbridge or an hour to Bremerton one way, and as a pedestrian you'll need to pay the fare only once. You'll have to get off over there, but you can get right back on for the return trip.

Trust me. Unless you've been on the ferry, you wouldn't understand.

I believe that's where at least one other TFC group (not sure if they're RPB or not, but they posted on the ECS boards) is going to before the match.
Fado is a corporate chain, but you're away supporters, you don't get the cool local places! I can't really think of any other place that would be better, as you need someplace you can walk from.
After the match though, or if you're around other days, then you'll be welcome anywhere.

Isn't Fado where the monkies go before/after the match?
