Battle of Bands: Sex Pistols vs. Black Flag

Gotta be Black Flag. The Pistols were great, but were essentially one hit wonders. Well, one album hit wonders. Black Flag influenced American punk nearly as much as the Ramones. I love Public Image, and I admit that McLaren's Sex shop influenced the way that punks dress, even to this day. But musically, Black Flag (and Rollins Band after that) have done far more.

I too voted for Black Flag. They were anti-punk punks, which made them quite punk.

It's a tough call, but I'd have to go with the Pistols, just for writing songs that I think about more. I think these are both good bands that have been overshadowed by great bands (the Clash, Minor Threat, etc.).

The Sex Pistols are my all time favourite band. They profoundly influenced British popular music and culture- for better and for worse.
