...on getting second place in the league. SAF has apparently either gone senile or just doesn't give a f***, but I won't let any of that take away from your accomplishment. I consider myself a Frank Lampard fan as well, so good to see him get a brace today. Maybe next year we'll actually be putting players out there who can win games. But until then, well-done.

(BTW, I did try to make this congratulatory thread as genuine as I could through all my anger and frustration... sorry if it sounds sarcastic or something, as its not.)

As any long time Chels fan will tell you, never underestimate our built in ability to completely f*** up a chance.

However, i do prefer our position to yours ;)

Yeah, even though we only need one point from our remaining two games, we can manage to screw it up. Almost did last year too. And if we'd screwed that up, there'd have quite possibly been no Roman, with loans coming due.........not a happy prospect!

Still, thanks for the somewhat kind words ;)

Well, I am fresh from the Arsenal Congratulations thread, so I felt I ought to stop by here too. Obviously I am hoping we will manage to salvage some pride by beating you this weekend, however 2nd place looks beyond us in all probability. Regardless, congrats to a powerfull prem campaign and Euro campaign.

Having worked with a Chelsea fan for a number of years, I remember the expectation and disappointment he went through with the last big spending team. At the start of the season I felt that the spending had been far more sensible this time - mixing British players with overseas talent. I felt that you would be a force (albeit one that might take a while to gel - got that wrong!) and so you have proven to be.

I think it is very healthy for the prem to have three top sides now, not just competing against eachother but also showing Premiership clubs can compete in Europe. On which note best of luck for turning the tie around.

Ranieri is not the man for the job IMO, but has carried himself with incredible dignity in what must be a very stressful situation. Terry and Lampard have been superb.

My Grandad (a life long Chelsea fan) died this year, it was great to see him enjoying the team being back in the hunt again. So go win the Champions League for him :)

Congratulations on second place . . . it's such a shame that Ranieri won't be given the chance to manage this team this year . . . one thing about Man U and Arsenal, the managers have been there for a while now and given the chance to mold the team into their vision. Unfortunately, Ranieri has not been given the chance this year.

If Newcastle and Liverpool get its act together, the EPL will be stronger for it . . . 5 or 6 teams in the Championship Hunt would be great although pretty stressful for the fan!

Watch what you say about Ranieri, he'll put a gypsy curse on Seth! oo-oo-oo Spooky!

Honestly don't see how you cannot love Ranieri, though - you are surely alone on this.

Ranieri is a class act and deserves to finish what he started. Hope he remains with Chelsea for next season.
