What kinds of bike computers do you guys own (have owned)?

I've never used one before, but I want to pick up something cheap that might just measure my cadence and mileage. Is that enough for a start?

What's a good brand or price range?

i have a garmin (which i love and use on all bikes), two cateye strada wireless, and a blackburn delphi 5.0.

you want 2.4ghz transmitter, cadence, and heart rate. anything else is a bonus. the garmin is to me the most logical computer to date. it has everything i just mentioned and also gps, elevation, and pc/mac linkage. did i say that i was in love with my garmin?

I have a trek computer which does the basics: mileage, speed, etc..

I did pick up another one, a sigma, which does cadence, but I have been too lazy to put that one on as well. I occasionally wear a heart monitor on rides, but usually only use that for the gym now.

Cat Eye and Sigma make decent ones, that include cadence and probably a lot cheaper than the Garmins. Now, when I do finally get that new bike, I will probably add the Garmin 705 to it.

what i am starting to find out is that the 705 is just bling unless you are running a SRM, PT, or quarq. it's just a color screen otherwise. you don't need the turn by turn.

I love your Garmin too. Can't justify a unit that cost just a little less than my entire bike.

I have an old Cats Eye wireless (the one before Strada). Would be interested to get cadence. I wear a separate HR monitor.
