No, this isn't a rehash of the old thread; he dislocated it again in training today. Right ahead of our CL game with Monaco, which means we're stuck with no width AGAIN. Arrrgh. Duff is a great player, but he's too damn frail. I hope no one's arguing we don't need Robben now. He won't need to challenge Duff for a spot - he'll play the half-season that Duff is out injured.

I saw this too. I don't remember him being injured to this extent when he was at Blackburn. What's going on???

Last year he had a lot of problems with hamstring issues, actually.
Dislocated shoulders aren't "chronic" from what I understand, so I guess we'll put it down to poor luck and thank god he's not playing in any tournaments this summer, so that he can just heal. Fortunately this isn't the sort of problem that has an effect on wingers - he can't play for a while, but hardly career threatening.
I guess this means Gronks and Parker on the wings against Monaco. Just great.

No, I think dislocated shoulders are chronic unless treated. I'm no physio, but I believe they have to go in and tighten up ligaments or tendons that are damaged or stretched.

Not to be too gloomy, but I think Paulo Wanchope was out for a long spell with the same injury. Hopefully, Duff can go in and get the surgery done now and be back for the beginning of next season.

Man, that sucks! Still, at least we KNOW Duff has talent and can play in the Prem unlike that useless baldy eunuch Veron :)

On a more positive note - keeper Carlo Cudicini has returned to full training.

Right-back Glen Johnson is also back after an ankle injury

Scott Parker is hoping to for the Saints game and of course we shall need a DM against Monaco with Makalele out

William Gallas has recovered from a hamstring injury

However, Juan Sebastian Veron is not yet fully fit. ho-hum.

Yes, once they pop out shoulders are prone to keep opoing out. Seems he may have an operation to pin it. They will decide in a week or so. They were thinking of it the first time but decided to wait and see if it poped out again.

Word on Chelsea TV this evening straight from the mouth of Claudio is that Carlo is set for Saturday.

Starting to turn into a Bryan Robson saga with the lad.
Indeed it would seem to have been an astute move to get Robben - er, wait a sec, he's crocked too isn't he

New focus for the off season - get players that don't have a history of games missed due to injuries!

Now - whats all this nonsence about Owen huh?

Robben's been shut down, but its a relatively light injury. He hasn't exactly ruptured an ACL or anything. But yes - won't it be nice next year when Jesper will be our 4th! option on the wings? Makes me smile already :)

I wouldn't start putting him uyp there with Chocco yet, Clan... that was some list of injuries. It is a pain for Chelsea fans, though.

True, he has a ways to go before reaching those unfortunate "heights' - but he does seem to be developing that annoying similarity of being injured right before massive games.

with ireland being out of euro 04, it seems that he would have at least a good month to rest it and see what happens. i like duff and i hope he doesn't end up becoming injury prone
