I watched a mini-marathon of this show while jacked up on Coca-Cola last night. I'll say that I am not an environmentalist, but within reason, I very much respect others fighting for what they believe to be right. We all need to be as free as possible.
This show was a little hard to get into for a bit, because I felt there was too much negotiation and not enough action. But the more I watched, the more it grew on me.
I love heavy boats in general, be they fishing boats or oil tankers. I also love adverse weather, and seeing vessels tossed about in it. I want to see more of Antarctica, which was gorgeous.
This show is entertaining for the various personalities that need to coexist, too. Peter Brown gradually got on me for the same reasons everybody else seemed to hate him. He just wanted too badly to do things his own way, and came across as a knowitall. In the end, he was an idiot.
Chris Aultman, the helicopter guy, was intersting. Spent a lot of time working with the chopper, and thus seemed like he was functioning alone at times, but his job was important. Shame the helicopter damage wound up too much.
I slowly got to liking the Hammer, a Swede raised in the UK. Interesting accent. He seemed a bit of a nerd at first, but he's led a fascinating life, and he is obviously tough.
Anyone else like/hate WW? Discuss.
