England are going to play Holland in Amsterdam 3 days before the first Premier League games are scheduled. How stupid is this?
We'll probably have Green, Upson and Cole in the squad, but why would the FA arrange a match so close to the opening day? Any bets about injuries?
I know the FA is run by incompetent morons, but this is an avoidable mistake. The clubs should resist these kinds of fixtures.

Correction; it's on August 12th; still only 3 days before the first game.

So then England go into the next WC qualifier without any preperation yeah?
FIFA set the dates not the FA.

I will never understand why internationals are played on such dates. Happens every year 2 or 3 times. I believe both the FA and FIFA are incompetent morons.
To their fan, yes i have written offering my services many times. These idiots hang onto the gravy train with super glue. Closed shop unfortunately and until it opens up proper football will remain in chaos.

Great point leslie, and it's not just the risk of injury it means that players are hauled away from their clubs at an important time for pre season preperations.

Do the clubs have to send there players, could the club just say no,or is this fround upon,if Green or Upson get injured it would be a huge lose for us.

If the clubs don't send their players, or have a medical certificate re cause why they shouldn't play international. International managers have the right to stop them playing the next match for their club.

The last thing Spector needs is to miss more pre season training at West Ham, he's already missed far too much of it since he signed for us.

...are you implying that Spector playing in the Confederation's Cup is somehow going to put him behind others at West Ham in terms of fitness? Full 90's for him in the last couple weeks... he's miles ahead of just about everyone the moment he enters Chadwell Heath. I'd rather have him playing Internationals than sitting behind Neill, Tomkins, Collins, Gabbidon, Upson, etc...
