Hey guys, which is your favorite parrillada place in NYC? Any restaurants serving real argie beef?

Last I heard real Argentinian meat was prohibited from being imported. There was a restaurant, in Flushing, that when they first opened sold organic meat from Argentina but then the prohibition came into effect and they started selling something else.

At least thats what the owner told me.

There are several places to eat but real 100% imported Argentinian meat, I'm not completely sure of.

If you are looking for the best Argentinian restaurant at the moment, I would point you in the direction of Pampas Argentinas in Forest Hills.

Cosmo is spot on with regards to not being able to get Argentine beef in this country anymore. Most of the beef you will find in any Parrillada in NYC will come from the meat packing district in the city.

As far as the best place to go, Cosmo and I have argued this before but my choice is La Fusta in Elmhurst. The beef is amazing plus the place has real character not to mention it might be the oldest parrillada in NYC. Pampas is good and our clear cut second choice but I think my decision comes down to sentimentality.

I want to start a thread called 'Parrillada in Liaoyang, China', but I don't think anybody can help me. In fact I know it's beyond hopeless.

Yeah. Probably I'll go back home on July 12th, unless something happens at the factory, like a delay in shipment, and then I might have to stay longer.

You weren't kidding about the China situation. NICE, I've always wanted to go and visit. Where are you?

Right now in a city called Liaoyang, where we have a factory we work with. It's a rather unremarkable place, although the people are very nice. But over the weekend I was in Dalian, it's the port city where we ship from and has some really nice beach areas.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll make sure to try them. I've been to Boca Juniors, La Cabana, and Gauchito, liked them all.

Too bad about not importing argentine beef (best in the world!). I'm planning a trip to Buenos Aires for September to see us kicking Brazil's ass, so I guess I'll have it then.

LA CABAŅA is always good. I know all the guys there and the attention is always superb. I always ask for things done a special way and they are more than happy to oblige. Lunch there is also good!

re_menor have you tried Pampas Argentinas in Forest Hills?

No, neither Pampas nor La Fusta, but I'll be trying them soon. Might have to wait for the weekend now.

There is a restaurant in the city, called AZUL, with Argentine cuisine for non Argentines. It's very good from what my cousin has said, I've yet to go.

:eek:What exactly is that? Our cuisine has got to be some of the most visitor friendly food around. What would have to be toned down to appease the less fortunate.

I'm sorry, I completely typed that wrong. I meant to say that the restaurant wasn't geared towards Argentines but rather non Argentines. Similar to how La Cantina de Don Chicho was more for Argentinos than for anyone else.

If they play in Rosario, does anyone have a hook up? I personally dont know anyone in Rosario, Baires is a another matter, but I think that most of us have fam there.

How about distance wise? How far away is it? 2 or 4 hours?
