I was just wondering if Spurs were comming back to the USA this summer. Does anybody know? I kinda doubt that they will be playing DCU again becuase they are playing Forest, but then again, no reason why they cant do both.
How about play the Crew at Crew Stadium? I'd drive down to see that one, although ill be 16. Dont wana cheer aganist the fire, so Crew would be good.

After the season we just had, Tottenham Hotspur isn't going to be a big draw.

You mean MLS fans won't want to see their team beat a real-life EPL team? Even a rubbish one?

Obviously I'd go if they played here, just saying that THFC isn't going to be as big a draw as the teams on the ChampionsWorld tour or whatever the hell its called.

Possibly, but it's not looking likely. Apparently the club are going on a tour of Sweden and then have the domestic friendlies against the Old Firm and Forest / Sheff Utd.

there's no rule saying that Tottenham Hotspur has to play DCU every year.

But there ought to be. Why break with tradition?

Then again, they have beaten us twice, which is rubbish. Granted, one win was against a Spurs old boys team, and the other was won with the aid of an own goal, but a win is a win. Or a loss is a loss, and quite frankly, i could do without any more, even in friendlies.

I don't know if you had the chance to see both games or not Jumhed, but DC United completely dominated the game at RFK (DC United's home stadium). Convey probably beat people off the dribble 50+ times that game; he was completely unstoppable. There was no Spurs player who could contain him, none. Obviously, DC United was more motivated, but the only Spurs players that looked good were Keane and Keller. Keane was probably unlucky not to have scored. But Redknapp, Gardner, Sherringham, and basically everyone else in a Spurs shirt were completely outplayed. The only real detriment for Spurs was that Kazu Toda played a lot, and it was painfully clear that he's a horrible player, and the worst on the field by a lot. Ziege actually showd flashes when he came in, but he and Ben Olsen got into it and Hoddle thought better and yanked Ziege ... no need to get re-injured in a friendly.

Obviously, I'd love to see Spurs and DC United become an annual thing. Two great teams that play the beautiful game the wide-open and attacking way it should be played. :D
