Since when did NZ "almost win" the first test??
we beat them easily by 7 wickets.
They never looked like winning it at any point.

.......seems thats people around here know jack sh1t about cricket.

so you are going to say NZ didn't have a chance to win, when cricinfo said after day 4- "...His (Mark Richardson) monumental triumph of the will has given New Zealand every chance of stealing a famous victory on a perfect Test-match wicket....". you know, whatever, i am not arguing over the closeness of the match, it was a great/exciting test.

as for not knowing jack-poopy about cricket- i'd like to think i am a smudge above that level. sure i am new to the sport, i'd like to give myself credit for at least a bit of knowledge of the sport.

and as for 'england being disrespected/not mentioned on this forum', i ask you then where's the threads you started to discuss the team? easiest way to talk about something is to start a thread on it.

A 7 wicket victory is a comprehensive win...
Being in a good position on day 4 aint the same as 'almost winning'.

Didnt wanna go over the top with that last post ,but I wasnt in agreement with the claims about the first match and the talk about the kiwi injuries..

I hadnt really noticed this forum until recently...
Im sure they'll be more cricket posts as the forum gets more popular..

can't wait to see what happens with the Natwest series; now NZ captain Fleming might sit out, to be healthy for the ICC Tourny in Sept, Story (http://usa.cricinfo.com/db/ARCHIVE/CRICKET_NEWS/2004/JUN/164805_ENGNZ2004_08JUN2004.html)

well, all i can add to this is i hope you stick around the forum, as your greater knowledge in cricket could be used here.

Cairns and Styris keep New Zealand afloat (http://usa.cricinfo.com/db/ARCHIVE/CRICKET_NEWS/2004/JUN/167119_ENGNZ2004_11JUN2004.html)

England 225 for 5 trail New Zealand 384 by 159 runs

"Chris Cairns produced a heroic bowling performance on his final Test appearance, to give New Zealand a slight edge at the close of the second day's play at Trent Bridge"

Butcher Battles back for England (http://usa.cricinfo.com/db/ARCHIVE/CRICKET_NEWS/2004/JUN/168563_ENGNZ2004_13JUN2004.html)

England 319 and 84 for 3, need 201 runs to beat NZ. should make for an exciting day, but with nz's depleted bowlers, looks like england should pull off the sweep.
