Parker is a good player, from an early age he was known to be a good player. He starred in a McDonalds advert as a kid, doing tricks with the football. This award is a very meaningful award imho as the players are nominated by their fellow professionals.
Joe Cole is also another excellent young English player. Along with Johnson these three are the future stars of London. Our 3 best players this season; Lampard, Bridge and John Terry*. It’s good to have a core of young English lads in an English team/league.
* Terry would have got my vote, but we'll see what the Football Writers decide on.

That sums it up for me perfectly. He had chances on the biggest club stage in the world, and fell flat on his face. Good player, but better than Terry? Please.

Or Kolo Toure? Seriously, Terry was/is more deserving than Parker, IMO.

granted his performance's for chelsea have'nt been the best let us say,but in fairness,he was outstanding for charlton and usually their best player against us.
also it's not like he's got a few games under his belt, after all who really has apart from lampard.only a few minuates here and there, and he's only 21(i think  )so it's not like he's really gotten a proper go.
chalk it down to one for the future or something like that.......
but yes i totally agree like i said above in the thread,if i was a betting man he definately would'nt have been a favourite for me to win it.
and lastly fair play to him for thanking the charlton boss for givening him his break, the poor lad was nearly in tears...

Odd that Terry did and Parker did NOT make the PFA team of the year.
