Five British players have played for at least three clubs who have each won the European Cup in their history.

Name them.

I think I got four, wracking my brains on the fifth:

Mark Hughes
Alan Mcanaly
Paul Ince
David Platt

OK, OK - stop ....

I have just reread the original teaser, as sent to me by email. The correct phrasing is actually "There are at least five British ... "

The five are

David Platt
Mark Hughes
Stan Collymore
Dean Saunders
Paul Ince.

Add Cascarino and Gary Charles.

I checked on Alan Macanally and I can't come up with three.

To my knowledge, Alan McInally played for Villa, Bayern Munich and Celtic.

Whilst trying to confirm the Alan McInally doubts, I came across this (http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,1563,427490,00.html) which asks a very similar question about half way down the page. Can't believe that they didn't get Gary Charles.

There must be loads of players over the years that have played for 3 of the following clubs Liverpool, Forest, Villa, Celtic, Man U or possibly a foreign club.

How many British players have won it with more than one club. Is it just one?

No just those 8:

David Platt
Mark Hughes
Stan Collymore
Dean Saunders
Paul Ince
Tony Cascarino
Gary Charles
Alan Macanally

Really? The question doesn't specify that when the player played for them the club had already won it or just had won it in their history. Surely someone had played for one of those combinations between 1880 and 1980
