Here's the latest from Goff. More will surely follow ...
If first-half artistry counted for anything, D.C. United would probably be undefeated after one month of the MLS season. But for all its flowing ball movement and dangerous chances, United simply cannot score on a consistent basis.

Ah, yes. It's the ever so original Adu angle ...

THE WASHINGTON TIMES
Given the ineffectual way D.C. United's forward line performed yesterday, the Freddy Adu maturation process might end at any time.
United blew numerous goal-scoring chances and Adu saw little action yesterday as the Chicago Fire triumphed 1-0 before 21,235 at RFK Stadium. The Fire snapped a team-record 327-minute scoring drought to open the season when forward Damani Ralph broke through in the 57th minute.
What began as a promising start to United's season now looks like any of the last four years. The team (1-2-1) dropped into third place in Major League Soccer's Eastern Conference while the Fire (1-1-2) vaulted into second.
Adu, who at 14 is the youngest and highest-paid player in the league, played a season-low 18 minutes on his own promotion night, The first 5,000 fans through the turnstiles received an Adu bobblehead.
After watching his team shut out for the first time, United coach Peter Nowak contemplated changing his forward line before Saturday's game at San Jose.
"Right now, we have to consider what we have to do better and try to find the best combination," Nowak said. "Is it going to be Jaime [Moreno] and Freddy, or Jaime and Ronald [Cerritos]? I don't know."
So if I speak Ken Wright correctly then playing Adu 90 minutes will equal goals for United. Any one else speaking Ken Wright play check my translation.

That's a good article from by Jimmy LaRoue at onthesidelines. (And thanks for the link.) I don't know whether to take solace in those quotes or be worried because the players sound even more frustrated than I am.

Nelson got that right. Neither of the teams deserved the full 3 points.

FYI: In the same article, I now have audio posted for several of the DC United players (Stewart, Nelsen, Namoff, Adu, Olsen, Moreno) and both coaches as well.
