SHAUN WRIGHT-PHILLIPS is a £7million summer target for Arsenal.
The young Manchester City star is the talk of the Highbury dressing room after his sparkling displays this season.
Now Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has set his sights on snapping up the son of Gunners scoring legend Ian Wright.
And Wright-Phillips, 22, is ready to move after becoming disillusioned at relegation-threatened City.
Arsenal may face competition from Liverpool, Spurs and Charlton for the talented winger.
Dennis Bergkamp — who lined up with Wright- Phillips’ dad at Highbury — revealed: “We have been talking about Shaun.
“He’s having a very good year for City and has changed the game a few times this season.”
A year ago Wright-
Phillips could never have imagined quitting City.
But a close pal told SunSport: “Wrighty does not enjoy it at City as much as he used to.
“He used to feel really close to the boss but, since all the big names arrived, he feels like the spirit has changed.
“It wouldn’t surprise me if he left this summer.”
Kevin Keegan’s struggling Blues sit in 17th place, just two points clear of safety.
Today they play 19th-placed Leicester — and if they lose and Leeds beat Portsmouth they will drop into the bottom three.
Keegan said: “The only thing that matters is the Leicester game. The picture will be clearer after that. A good result and things will look different.
“We’re in a different situation to what a lot of us maybe envisaged at the start of the season.”
