And this site says it's confirmed

Anyone dutch fans out there that can clue me in on how good he is?
I know he's a left winger that can play behind the striker like Reyes. How does he compare to Van der Vaart, Sneijder and Robben?

Don't see the point of this? Would he be the long term replacement for Titi? If it's only 4m euros it'd probably be worth having the coverage!
Its only Ray Parlour

Long term replacement of Henry?....Hardly. He's far more likely to be the mid-term replacement for Pires. Who will be 33 next year and has no real credible replacement in the squad at the moment. Seems like a very good move from the admittedly limited number of times i've seen him play. When we were originally linked with him, there were a number of Feyenoord fans or generally fans of dutch football supporters that came on Arsenal websites to give an apprasial of van Persie, the general consensus was that he was an extremely talented individual (& a dead-ball specialist) with the potential to be as good as the players highlighted above but he has terrible attitude to authority & believes he is already a star. He has actually been called up to national team squad on occassions, not sure whether he has been capped yet but he still apparently in contention for one of the last spots in the Dutch squad for Euro2004.

i wouldnt get too excited - this kid is talented, but his head is firmly up his ass - he's got an ongoing attitude problem and i'm really surprised that wenger would buy someone who is basically the same player as reyes... but nowhere near as good - this one will probably backfire

Yeah, I remember reading alot about this when he was rumored to be coming in the winter. Perhaps Wenger thinks he suffers from big-fish-little-pond syndrome and might gain some perspective fighting for a place against a World Cup winner.

Yeah, I couldn't see him having an attitude if he does get bought by Wenger. How is he going to be a primadonna when he isn't even good enough to start? Once he gets schooled in training a few times, I think he would get his head on straight.

The transfer of Robin van Persie to Arsenal is definitive: the Feyenoord striker is set in the course of this week to sign a four-year contract. Feyenoord, who in the winter break wanted eight million Euros for the Rotterdammer early, now gets 4.8 million Euros at transfergeld.
Van Persie will play with countryman Dennis Bergkamp, now a legend of the English club, if he also is rewarded with a contract for next season. Van Persie will probably have to compete with the citizen of Amsterdam, for Arsenal has promised that he will play as a "no. 10." Van Persie could not ask for better.
PSV (who reportedly offered 6million euro, but couldn't meet wage demands), according to Hugo Breast, on the program Studio Football of the NOS on Friday per SMS have been informed of the transfer. He can earn more in England than he can at PSV. Per the young Oranje-international, however, the choice was not made over money, but because ??he prefers Arsenal?? or
??Arsenal is a better team??
On telegraph. nl van Persie reacted to the transfer: "I will give a quick answer, probably in the course of coming week. ??I have no need at edge affairs. I come to Feyenoord for a competition.?? Over all the others I want to say now nothing. I want to choose a good future. Money is now not yet important. ??If I on my thirtieth not yet within am, goes that aspect perhaps well games.?? I want to come to a team that plays good football in which I can play my football well. I am not fearful that I possibly must compete for a place. That learned I here at Feyenoord well."
Not sure how this is all going to work out - Bentley is going on loan, van Persie now to be groomed for Dennis' spot? Weird. But, couldn't be happier today. A day off, and WE WON THE TITLE!! :D :D

Bluedaddy is an Ajax fan. Ajax fans are programmed to hate Feyenoord players, so you might as well ignore his comments.
In Holland Van Persie is considered one of the biggest Dutch talents around at the moment, always included in the Robben, Van der Vaart, Sneijder list. His main problem at Feyenoord has been that he didn't get on with the manager. He is admittedly cocky and outspoken in the typical style of a Dutch footballer, but not more so than Van der Vaart and many other Dutch footballers.
His preferred position is the Dennis Bergkamp one, btw, but he was groomed as a left winger.
All in all a good buy for Arsenal, especially considering that they're paying considerably less for him now than they were going to at the last christmas break.

You really can't stand that a Feyenoord player actually has talent, can you.

i dont hate all feyenoord players and besides... the feyenoord fans on BS would be delighted if he left - they don't feel any better about him than i do - don't believe me? help yourself and ask one

yeah... included way at the end of the list, long after those names have been mentioned at the beginning - why are they the new driving force on the national team and he cant even get to camp, much less a cap?
His main problem at Feyenoord has been that he didn't get on with the manager.
ummm that would be two managers and counting johan - and if he's so wonderful, why can't he start for the third place team in eredivisie? why did they begin to play better right about the time he was benched?

rubbish

I'm not going to pick a fight with you. All I wanted to do is point out to Arsenal fans that as an Ajax man, you're not likely to be objective about Van Persie. You've just made that clear again so my job is done.

... except you already tried to pick a fight - do you think anybody's gonna buy these stories you keep selling about me? my opinion about vanP is objective - i wouldn't want him on my team and neither do plenty of feyenoord fans - on the other hand, i'd GLADLY take feyenoord winger ebi smolarek
so since you have no intention of answering valid points and questions (as usual), just slink on back to world rivalries - i post in this board all the time
