More Rumour and Conjecture:
Chelsea are said to be ready to use Hernan Crespo as a makeweight in a deal for Trezeguet. Trez would prefer to go to the Camp Nou, but Frank at Barca would prefer the Van Basten like qualities of Michael Owen apparently. And there you go…
Another summer of rumours and purchases for the Chels, though I doubt there will ever be anything like last summer.

No! I don't want the next Oliver Bierhoff at Chelsea! I've never liked Trezeguet - he can't create for himself at all. No to Trezeguet!

Couldn't disagree more. Almost all of Trezeguet's goals are tap ins or free headers. He can't create for himself at all. That's fine when you're playing off of Nedved and Del Piero, or Zidane and Henry for France. I don't think Chelsea can use him that way, and I'd much rather stick with Crespo.
The striker in the SerieA that I want is Sheva, who I think is custom built for the English game. Great with his head, does a lot of running, and not too bad at finishing either. We shall see if Abramovich's money can tempt him, although I wouldn't expect it to.

Interesting choice of favorite teams for someone from Israel, I have to say :) Although I get the same for Lazio.
I don't think we need Vieri. He's injured too often and is a bit old at this point. If we're going to bring in another striker, I'd want it to be someone who's truly great and still relatively young - names like Henry, Sheva or Raul. Perhaps Torres from Atletico. But these aren't players who're likely to be sold, so I think we'll see a very similar frontline next year.

funny... thats exactly what i say about crespo - he does make the odd bit of magic and trezeguet does require service... but crespo disappears for games at a time, can't stand him - that being said, i'm not a big trezeguet fan either

Heh. I'm hardly suggesting Crespo's the second coming of Zola, but he has a lot more skill on the ball, like the recent goal against Villa, which was exquisite. Trezeguet really reminds me of Bierhoff - good player, so long as he doesn't have to use his feet.

I feel your pain there, being a Lazio fan. Israelis supporting a club from Bavaria is still funny to me though. :)
