I'm just looking forward to seeing this game in person. It'll be nice to show him support.

Absolutely! Wouldn't miss this for anything! I want to talk to him afterwards....we email regularly, so it'll be good to talk in person. He's supposed to leave me a ticket (at least I think he is), so I have no idea where I'll be sitting...care to meet up before the game? I want to get there early. Is your cell number the same?

I honestly don't know - we've never discussed it. If I get a chance to talk with him for more than a few minutes after the game, I'm going to mention it.

I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin at the Region 1 Championships in 2002 where he was the tournament's referee instructor. He really did a great job and it seemed like he made an effort to talk to as many of us as possible. The night after the semi-finals, he recounted a number of things he observed while walking around to view different games that day. As a nice touch, he named the field, game, and asked each of the referees to stand (calling them by name) so he could deliver praise. He really made the whole experience worth remembering. Somehow, he even managed to work an MLS match that weekend as well.

You know, Bill, hearing all that about him doesn't surprise me a bit. It was just fun watching him yesterday.
