A co-worker of Vicky's got a recorded call from Petke thanking her for attending the home opener. Not only was she not there, but she only attended Freedom matches. She did a lot of volunteer work for the Freedom, which is why I think she made the list.

Anyone else get a call out of the blue from United? Even a recorded call from Mike would mean a lot to me. I wish I had been on the list. :(

Yes, I got one today...it was pretty awesome actually. I knew he was a recording, but I still couldn't help asking him "what's up with that accent?"

I get calls all the time. Used to be Bobby Convey quite a bit, poor thing needed to practice the script a few times first though so it wouldn't have sounded like he was reading. I think Freddy called before the season started.

Dave Brother-I received a recorded call from Mike Petke today also. I think that being a seasons ticket holder this year was the key. Years of attending the games, even coming from Tennessee, didn't do it before this. At least, that's the only thing that I know that I've done differently.

Good marketing strategy! Though I think that it would generate more revenue if they targeted the folks that weren't season ticket holders already!

I've been on their call list before because I've bought single tickets. My season tickets are through the Screaming Eagles, so DC United doesn't treat us as individuals. When the ticket sales guys call, I have to explain that yes my wife and I are season ticket holders...

What a great idea.
Now if Jennifer Connelly would only personally thank me for watching her movies... ;)

I got a call from Petke, and then got another call a few minutes later from someone in the DC United front office. I'm not a season ticket holder or anything, in fact three weeks ago was my first DCU game ever.

I did not receive a call from Mike, and let me just tell you how bummed I am. He's sooooo dreamy :p

I got both of those calls this week also and I'm not a season ticket holder. The Petke call doesn't surprise me, but the personal one from the DC staff did. I can only occasionally get to games because I live 2 hours away. No need for them to worry about me though...I'll be back this season.

The company that does this is called SoundBite. We use them for telemarketing strategies at my office. Their reps. visted my boss and they told her they handle accounts for MLS teams.

You have season tickets and you live in Memphis?

Rather than Petke, can they get Lorie Fair to call me? :)

I've gotta support the team that I loved from the first. Minor detail that I can't get to most of the games. I try to arrange every trip to DC around a game, happens three or four times a year! Had a wonderful time on April 3rd!

Besides, you certainly wouldn't want me rooting for most of our current Memphis teams! Only the ones my daughter and husband play on.

Stay strong United! Play strong United!
