I wouldn't dispute that they are both great at what they do, and how they do what's asked of them for the team. You run into much of the same arguments when the (rarely discussed  ) comparisons of Ruud vs. Henry are brought up.
You're exactly right. Despite Coach's current thread in your forum ;), I think RVN and Henry are very different players and have different skills. If they were ever on the same team it would be frightening as their respective skills would probably complement each other quite well.

Couldn't agree more. What one is weak at, the other is great at. It's unlikely to ever happen, but what I wouldn't pay to see those two on the same team...

This is a bit of a joke thread to be honest. Giggs is still better than Pires. The only season in which Pires has ever outshone Giggs was in 2001/02.
Pires is an excellent player, but Giggs is up there with Czibor, Gento etc as the best left winger ever.
srd....

Uh oh... you haven't been taking football advise from Pele, have you? Although it would help explain your choice of club... ;)

That year luck was on ManUres side.
If Dennis Bergkamp didn't miss that late penalty we would of played in the final and not the scummers.
ManUre won the Champions League after 90mins of complete ownage and they still managed to win the game, with two flukey goals out of nowhere.....
And I still can't believe how lucky you were to win the Premiership that season with just the last game of the season to decide it, with Arsenal 1 point behind.

This disease seems to be spreading, first mixmastermatt and phishy, and now poor Mad Theory seems to have been infected:
Treble Envy - An aspect of Sigmund Freud’s developmental theory. Freud believed that during development little gooners had to switch from having the Wenger as the love object to having the Fergie as the love object. At about the age of four, Freud believed that gooners first discovered they lacked a treble. The gooner will blame the Wenger for the lack of a treble and the consequent hurt to the gooner's own self-esteem. This causes the gooner to give up on Arsenal, and turn to the MUFC as love object. This aspect of Freud’s theory has received a great deal of criticism, particularly from scousers.

Symptoms and Treatments!
I almost forgot, silly me:
Symptoms - Nervous twitching can occur as well as extended periods of trolling in the treble winners' forum. Sudden monosyllabic outbursts are common as well as taking on the personallity of a potted plant.
Treatment - Sadly, no cure has been found, but scientists believe that high consumption of alcohol provides only temporary relief. Health officials frown on the "crying in your beer" method as it can leave large areas, like Northern London, littered with empty bottles of Magnum and Tetleys.

The neutral supporter will probably agree with Motterman.
But because we're Gooners we're bias, but it's true until we win the treble they will always hold that against us. But really it's because their threatened by the fact that Arsenal are the best team in the Premiership.
Let go of the past Motterman......let go.

well motterman, perhaps.. but my definition is a little different... '99 must of been a fantastic summer, collecting the treble.. i cannot imagine how great that must feel.. winning the league is just fantastic this year.. the double years were great as well... i only hope we can achieve the ultimate treble...
i'm still waiting......

If this is going to turn into a "You started it. No, I didn't. Yes you did. No, I didn't" argument I would prefer to just quit conversing with you on this.

I don't really care too much for the treble..
I just want to win the Champions League!!!!
But Wenger's still young he's got time on his side.
ManUre scummers must remember that Wenger has won more titles in his first 7 years than Fergie did.
Fergie won the European title in his 13th year...

Your record stands for itself. I never scoffed, belittled, or demeaned it in any way. I fail to see the point you are trying to score on this one, but that wouldn't be the first time.

And how many trophies has that run given you? You seem to neglect to include any games outside of the Premiership in your statement - how else would you explain not winning the Charity Shield, Worthington Cup, FA Cup and Champions League? I seem to remember Arsenal managing to lose some games in those competitions ok.
