As the silly season is fast approaching, and Spurs look set to make several significant transfers into the side (and many out of the side), I figured this would be a good place to aggregate the stories and conjecture about the center backs (centre-half if you prefer) and fullbacks, as this seems like a very fertile turnover area.

In addition to our prior linkings with Dawson (Nottingham Forest) and Hofland (PSV Eindhoven), and several others, here's a new one being speculated, Marcio Amoruso (Borrusia Dortmund). It's not clear which club he's talking about, but the word FREE is always nice to hear.

Amoroso is a brazilian striker, quite small and skilfull as I remember but apparently now with attitude problems. The word is it's actually Bolton who have approached him, he is a prime candidate for Big Sam's rehab skills.

I expect the club will only sign one centre back, if at all. Getting Mabizela adjusted and moving Ledley back is what they really need to do.

Kicking Pleat out is what they need to do. He is a cancer at the club, helped his last two EPL teams to relegation, is aiding Spurs in that direction, and almost ruined us in the '80's before his extra-curricular activities got him fired.

I think there are two Amoruso's.

Well, if we are getting rid of both Kanoute and Postiga, Amoroso might not be a bad replacement. He does have that major injury he is coming off of...
