dcunited.com has a report on Tino (click here) (http://www.dcunited.com/index.cfm?section=main&cont_id=241143)

D.C. United announced today that forward Santino Quaranta (http://www.dcunited.com/index.cfm?section=team&cont_id=player&personnel_id=445&roster_id=15) has undergone successful groin surgery. The surgery was performed this morning by Dr. William Meyers, a general surgeon specializing in sports hernias, at the Hahnamen University Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. The surgery smoothed calcium deposits found on the pubic bone that were rubbing and tearing the adductor tendon.

Yikes.

Get well soon, Tino

Read more carefully grasshoppa. the article says that he set some milestones in 2001. doesn't say that he currently holds those distinctions. in 2001, he WAS the youngest scorer in league history.

Did they find his testicles? No? Hmm, maybe they should look for his heart...

Not Funny....

Tino's heart has never been in question. The kid's had some tough breaks yet he keeps coming back.

True. He also keeps coming back only to get injured. He's looked distant and distracted since he had his kid. Personally, I think this kid will be the downfall of his soccer career. He better get ready to go to college and/or finish high school because Santino hasn't done jack squat since his wife/girlfriend/FB squeezed out his ticket to retirement.

No, no it hasn't.

Yes, yes it has.

On the rare occassions he's actually played in between his injuries, he's more often than not looked disinterested on the field and has put in more poor performances than good ones.

I'm willing to cut him quite a bit of slack with respect to his injuries, but at some point one has to wonder if he could do a better job of taking care of himself in the off-season. Tino just doesn't seem to have the toughness it takes to a pro soccer player.

Of course, with his latest injury, that's just really damn sucky.

Nice touch....what does having a baby have to do with playing soccer??? Nevermind. Pre-Nowak I would have been really down on Tino. But Nowak's comments about his efforts to be a part of the team, work hard and raise his game gives me hope that he won't be a complete washout. He's still young and can come back from this and succeed. I am not ready to proclaim his career over yet.

How'd ya like to have that job?

Honey, what did you do at work today?

Oh, I rubbed a pro athlete's pubic bone till it was smooth.

Wash you hands for dinner, dear.... And use lot's of soap.

Everything. It's possible he's pressing harder since he realizes he needs to provide for more than himself. Maybe he can't handle being so young with enormous responsibilities. We will look back at his child's birthday and being the critical event that proved to be the beginning of the end of Santino's professional career.

It's a shame, really. The kid has tremendous skills but he doesn't have his ******** together.

I still don't understand how getting injured means you have no heart or your sh!t isn't together?

I wasn't making the comparison between him getting injured and his baby. I'm saying that his concentration level after his child's birth has been sh!t compared to the level it was beforehand.

Watch the tape ;)
