He wasn't robbed.
I heard he was at a hotel with a bunch of hookers and they demanded extra cash for a three-way.

I hope Harkes and JP are safe there in South Africa. Uh, nevermind.
Maybe the reason ESPN didn't fly them to the games is for safety reasons. And all this time, we just thought it was because they hated soccer.

Yep, and so it begins. Every hoodlum and gangster in the region has to be licking his chops for the World Cup - all those naive tourists, flush with cash, coming to town and all...

Next year is going to be a World Cup for street thugs. They will even have their own statistical categories. They are as follows:
1. # of Strong-Arm Robberies
2. Amount of $$$$$$$ made from Robberies
3. # of Drunk Fans Rolled
4. # of Times of Your Gun Discharged
5. # of Different Nationalities Robbed
6. Amount of $$$$$$$$ in Drugs Sold
7. Amount of $$$$$$$$ in Guns Sold
8. # of Procured Hookers for Drunk Fans
9. # of Hotel Rooms Robbed
If any of you have additional ideas for the Street Thug World Cup sign on here.
That is all.

I work with some partners who are South African - they tell me their homes and offices are literally within Green Zone like compounds. Not sure if they are embellishing, but it does make you wonder. I'm sure it will all go down fine though.

No they are not exaggerating. Especially around Johannesburg, the subdivisions are basically reverse prisons. All Subdivisions are gated with BOTH razor wire and electric fence around the entire compount/subdivision. Additionally, they all have guards.
Why?
Home invasions. They will enter a home, wait for people to come and steal everything and kill those in the home.
There are still lots of tensions left in South Africa.

That is how they described it for sure.
