this article made me puke
http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/bundesliga/startseite/artikel/510483/
- Diamond/Rhomb formation in midfield
- Schweinsteiger as RCM
- Ribery as CAM
- Braafheid as starting CB
Hopefully it is just Kicker bullshitting around as they've done quite often in the past otherwise I'd be completely disappointed if a so called tactical mastermind like LvG can only come up with old ideas that haven worked in the past and that won't work in the future

i call bullshit... 1) how can LVG have decided on a formation without yet even having 1 training session with the team 2) the transfer window is not even closed and the roster isn't finanlized 3) would he really call kicker to update them on his planned formation?
Also that is a ticking timebomb if the "captain" MVB is sitting on the bench...

I hope he gets so pissed off he wants to leave. He doesn't deserve to be captain so maybe there will be a long overdue change in captaincy.:D

Okay lads.... Eissman back from full week of Disney (my god!!!).... 19 hour non-stop trek by van completed 2 hours ago. Biergarten was awesome! Scored some half price Bayern swag at the Epcot Germany gift shop as well (training kit $23, boot bag $10).
Anything transpire besides an official statement on Prajnic (sp?)????!!!!!
Just now catching up on my USMNT games. Watching Italy now. Toni on in the 69th minute. Rossi on before him and hits equalizer (ridiculous how two goals come from the same exact area and distance on the pitch - but that is for another thread ). Toni's stock is plummeting. (I know all the results up to today (Monday)).

Off topic briefly....
Got Rosetta Stone German for Father's Day to start catching up to speed with you guys.....who said you can't teach an old fart new tricks???? Anybody used Rosetta Stone before? Can I expect to be fluent before the season starts? ;)

Pranjic should be a good signing.
Lets hope Mr Arrogance LvG doesn't really sell Lucio. It is not that CB grow on trees and we can substitute them very easily. I would only accept a Lucio transfer if the money gained from it is used to get Tasci. :)

Tell me how you like it once you start using it. I saw the commercial and all of the "real life customers" on the commercial say it's great but I want to know if it's actually as good as they say.

Ummm... No.
The best way to learn German? Spend time over there and learn it amongst the people. Sure, book German is nice and how I got started. But true Bavarians can smell us coming a mile away with our syntax and all. It helps to communicate, sure. But Bayerische it is not. ;)

the last time bayern were in UCL semi they had no south american defender. What has he done in the UCL in terms of defending for 6years? I can remember a couple of deflected own goals
Splendid logic, I guess we are guaranteed to not make the semi-final of Champions League for the simple fact that we don't have a South American striker.
Kicker's formation is ridiculous and dumb like already stated, Lucio being benched will already make me dislike VG's ideas. Bench the most experienced CB who is CL proven and start potentials/nobodys weak players in CL. Sounds great!

Agreed, but is not an option in the real world (at least not in mine)....got to figure out a way to learn it while in the States....
I've heard good things about RS....it teaches via immersion (obviously not true immersion) rather than by memorization. Teaches you to learn the new language (supposedly) the way you would naturally learn your own language...
I'm sure it's not as good as living in Germany, but is supposed to be the next best alternative. We'll see.... And I was kidding about being fluent by Aug 7th....;)
As long as I can learn how to say "Leverkusen sucks ass!" before the start of the season, I'll be satisfied.....wonder which chapter that will be in?? :D

Bayerisch is nigh unintelligible to those of us who know only high german. I can get by fine in Berlin, but I gotta play 20 questions with people in Munich.

I am with you on that. I have it, but have not been able to sit still long enough to get into it.

I believe that is Chapter 4 - "How to be a successful native soccer hooligan."
You will learn such creative chants as:
"Dzekos Schwester ist eine Hure!" (as made popular by Marco Materazzi)
"Werder Bremen sieht wie Scheisse aus!"
and many others!

Yeah, the best way to learn Bayerische or hell German for that matter is to find a job on a farm in the rural country. Thats what I did. The people who worked there did not speak a lick of English so all my communicating had to be how they could understand. If that is not an option, I would suggest just trying to immerse yourself as much as possible: change the language of the programs on your computer to German, only go to German websites for soccer info...You learn a whole lot better when you do not have the option of reverting to what you already know.
And has anyone heard of a pricetag on Lucio? Surely it is 20-30M?
