We played fairly better...Dempsey is still trying to be something he isnt..or maybe he is ..a Showoff!

Lil Bradley got away with a fould that could have been a red car..he is always one step away..he is rash and immature

LD is still scared to shoot the ball All he can do is run straight

Bob Bradley got lucky that Egypt tokk us lightly and where not ready for the little energy we had

Bob Bradley should have started Benny with his son...

Altidore still gives up afte rhe loses the ball...Which he always does..I mean Man up and hold the ball for once

We got Lucky and are heading for a major fall and this just covered up the rust.....

Yes, the fact that we got through on the second tiebreaker almost by definition means we got lucky. And yes Egypt played a mash unit in the second half, and had all their subs used by the 60th minute.

But honestly,

We deserve to be in more then the f*ckin hand ball specialists (Egypt) and the Italian Old Persons Home, whom looked even worse vs Brazil then we did.

Forza USA!!!

Getting out of that group always required luck. Even so, Brazil was the only team that really outclassed us all over the field and deservedly beat us 3-0. Keep in mind that Italy lost to Brazil 3-0 just like us.

We needed luck to get out of our group in Korea, and until we become as good as Spain, Italy, Brazil, etc, we'll always need luck. It's part of our game baby!:)

We deserved every bit of the victory vs. Egypt, and it easily could have been 4-0 (PK for handball on the line), 5-0 (Davies squares to Jozy), or even 6-0 (Donovan shoots).

As for luck, yes, Brazil thrashing Italy was unexpected, but they can always hang 3 on anyone, and Italy didn't score on anyone at full strength the whole tournament. It is hard to argue they deserved to go through.

Plus, if we hadn't got a BS red in the first game, there's no way we lose 3-1.

And, the Brazil game could have been worse as well.

Yeah, but you make your own luck. We were unlucky on two really bad red card calls in games 1 & 2, without which maybe we tie Italy and lose to Brazil in a less egregious fashion.

Fortunate that Italy lost 3-0 and Egypt lost players due to injury? Sure, but, thems the breaks. I don't feel like we stole it. Italy & Egypt choked it away, maybe, but I think we did our part.

Let's not go overboard on Brazil. Sure, they are in good form now, but they drew Colombia 0-0 in Brazil last September. They were in rough waters until lately. I don't think they are necessarily the best in the world.

Egypt had bad luck to lose to them. 93rd minute.

I'm not going overboard on Brazil, I'm just saying, they can always hang three on anyone.

Italy is the team that is obviously in transition. Hell, they gave up 3 to NZ in a friendly just before the tournament.

Yes, Egypt played them well, but still gave up 3 goals in the first half.

The fact that Brazil isn't, for them, their usual awe-inspiring selves, was part of the disappointment with our performance (and attitude) against them before. This Brazil team CAN be taken, and we chumped it.

My take on the 3 games.

Italy- We know we can play them tough and gave them a run before the bullcrap RC. Was really a 2-1 game and the first two goals were strictly due to being down a man. Tactically we got outgunned.

Brazil- We saw the yellow jersey, thought we are gonna lose, and played that way. I have hard time remembering a weaker effort by the whole damn team. Tactically outmatched again.

Egypt- US is sick of negative world and national media and plays with a chip on the shoulder. Egypt takes us lightly. We realize late we have a shot to advance and actually play offensively as opposed to defensively. Good move by Bradley moving Clint up top. He should remain there vs Spain with Benny starting at RM.

Spain is going to want to show they can handle Brazil in the WC next year and will be playing for a win. If we do not value possession like normal, it is going to be ugly.

Prediction-
Spain 3-1
