my two biggest worries lately have been who is playing right side midfield(parker was again t errible), and no carlo(i dont care if people actually think ambro was playing well), but damn our strikers(no matter who plays) are so useless and frustrating to watch. how in the hell can you be playing lazily in this game? i say dump at least 3 of them, bring forssel back, and get someone else in here that is actually dangerous. oh well, heres hoping for a very very good second leg

Half-time. We looked in control. We looked the most likely to score. Veron? Veron should have perhaps started and when it was realised that he wasn’t match fit, we could have replaced the lad with the more energetic Gronks or Joe Cole.
Parker is a good player. A DM. A young player. an understudy for Makalele. He’s not a winger and he’s not a left or right sided midfield player.
what the hell was he thinking? the substitutions?
We needed some extra energy in the middle. Lampard was having a great game.
We should not have messed with the back 4 at all. Period.
Send on an extra striker? maybe. but not Jimmy, he drifts out of the game at the best of times. I would have brought on Mutu and joe Cole. Feisty players with ENERGY.
Huth? Not sure what he’s doing at this level. Really, is a huge lad, but why would you play him outside of the Central defence if at all?

The one thing Veron brings to the side is a free kick threat. As I posted during the game, Veron's corners were the most dangerous Chelsea have had all season. Jimmy hits the virtually open net with his header, we're up 2-1, and the Tinkerman is a genius. Instead, he misses, they break on a counter and we're down 2-1 and Ranieri is the goat.
The difference? Probably less than half-an-inch on Jimmy's forehead.
There's a line about the difference between genius and madness being paper thin that I would quote here if I could think of it.

Its like most games this season and probably alot more under Raneri's tenure, too much trying to score the perfect goal. Too much overplay outside the box. Chelsea we are, Arsenal we ain't!!!!
