Like many people in the MD/DC/NOVA area I will be vacationing in the Outerbanks this summer. Anyone know of places that carry mls direct kick, comcast, fsc, gol, etc. I figure there is either one place that does or none. Sometimes you get lucky and a soccer fan owns a bar at the beach, any help would be appreciated.

I am staying in the Kill Devil Hill / Kitty Hawk area.

We go there every summer and I just end up watching the scores roll on the bottom of ESPN2.

Try Slammin' Sammy's out on the main road around Mile Marker 8 I think. It's near the movie theatre.

well if you have internet access down there http://atdhe.net/ may have a live feed of the game. That's how i catch games down in Florida. That or if they have Spanish speaking channels they might carry the games.

You should probably just go up to Duck to Ye Olde Ice Cream Shoppe...might have to sit through Breakfast at Tiffany's and Gone with the Wind first. Jasus, I hate Duck.

If you can find a good sports pub down in that crapola piece of sand and Saabs, please advise.

I don't remember ever seeing a soccer game there, but Slammin' Sammy's is a "sports bar" with lots of tv and redskins memoriabilia all over the walls. I don' know who the owner is, but they've got jukeboxes going all night so I don't think anyone cares what's on tv in the middle of the summer. But I haven't been down in five years and in general I've felt like a fish in the desert when I try to go in those kinds of places and explain that I want to watch a "Soccer" game...yes, that thing where they kick the ball..."
But last time I was down there, the local rock station was promoting the hell out of the (semi) local Wilmington team.

I posted Slammin' Sammy's above. I've seen United games there before. Don't count on them putting it on the big screens, they'll hook you up with one of the small screens. My advice is get there early and ask for a manager as soon as you walk in.

I'm pretty sure we watched last year's Euro Final there and there were several others watching too. But that was a big game on ESPN something on a weekday (?) afternoon don't know about a Saturday night FSN or CSN MLS game. Call and ask.

just got back from Kill Devil Hills. There's a small place called Mama Kwan's on mile post 9.5 off Croatan Hwy oceanside. they had a few hd tv's and played surf moves half the time, so i'm sure you could always try there.
