1 - Included shootout wins in seasons 1996-1999.
2 - Included shootout losses in seasons 1996-1999.

Highlights:

It has been quite an eventful week, with many movements in the PTS & PPG table, as well as many teams reaching milestones of their own.

1. DCU have pulled leveled with LAG again, & became the 1st team to score 700 league goals, congrats!! :D

2. DCU will be able to grab sole possession of top-spot with at least a tie vs Seattle in the coming mid-week game.

3. DCU are also just 7 victories away from being the 1st team to get 200 league wins all-time!

...

10. Seattle jumped back to 3rd by PPG above LAG/DCU, they can go 2nd with a win over DCU in the next game.

As someone from DC who is both a DC United and Seattle Sounders fan, I can't wait for this game. It should be a good one. I just wish it was a Saturday game instead of a Wednesday game.

When you do your W-L-T calculations, how do you count shootout wins and losses?

No Jaime for the Seattle OR Colorado game. Benny's travelling with the team, though.

I haven't seen Seattle play recently but they were looking great at the begining of the season. We're looking great right now so I really have no idea how this game is going to turn out. Should be frickin' AWESOME!!

I'm bummed about having to cheer against Kasey Keller but dems da breaks.

I'm counting on DC scoring via specatular blasts to the upper 90 that allow one to say, "oh, well, Keller had no chance at that one."

I'm hoping Keller kicks one in off Fred's head.

I'm hoping Keller kicks one in off Fred's head.

Funny, I was hoping he'd make a spectacular save at the edge of the box in the first minute of the match...just a hair over the line....and gets ejected.

I'm hoping Keller kicks one in off Fred's head.

Given his accuracy, I think it far more likely that Fred will kick one in off Keller's head.

It's perfectly fine to root for him to have a superb match - in a losing cause.

Seattle has been in a bit of a slump of late. they've only had 2 wins in the last 10 games, both against San Jose, after winning the first 3 games. During that 10 game stretch they are 2-3-5. There has been signs of life in the last two games though. They controlled the ball most of the game against Chivas two weeks ago, with a number of scoring opportunities, but were just unable to finish and get the ball in the net (Thornton had a number of "circus saves" that game and an open net header that went over the crossbar). They continued the ball control domination against San Jose on Saturday, but hey, it's San Jose, who doesn't do that?

This is also going to be one of the few times since the second game that the entire starting XI should be on the field (5 red cards and injuries/illness to key players). The only questionable player is Osvaldo Alonso, who has been nursing a pulled quadricep he injured three weeks ago, but was a late game sub in Saturday's game, so hope is high he'll be available to start tomorrow.

Other than that, looking forward to seeing some good futbol tomorrow night. It's the first weekday match in Qwest, but it is sold out, so should be interesting to see if the energy is any different. The place was noticeably quieter on our sole Sunday game so far, but certainly wasn't the church you see at some MLS games.

I like how Seattle plays. They seem unable to play slow, boring soccer (are you listening, FCD??) They're fast, pretty good technically, and have people who can pass the ball well. They're also not afraid to shoot from distance occasionally. The turf is another wild card.

All that said, we have a pretty good team too, so I'm looking forward to the match.

I was at the Seattle-Dallas game in Frisco a month or so back, my biggest thing about Seattle is that they basically play with 4 forwards, and all of them will pinch into the box from anywhere, including the wings. With a 3-man backline like we have, we'll have to be very good with our organization and marking to have everyone picked up as they come into the box; Seattle is all about bringing their speed from every angle.

I would play more quick players in this game because it might be possible to catch their wingers playing too high. Maybe something like this:

-----------------Wicks-------------------
Namoff-----------Jakovic----------Burch--
---------Simms---------Olsen(assuming he can start)
Khumalo-------------------------Wallace--
------------------Fred--------------------
--------Emilio------------Tino-------------

I feel good about this game so I call 2-0 United.(Khumalo and Tino with the goals)

Mighty!
