I realized I was scoring too many goals on Semi-Pro level, seemingly at will. I've been using Almeria of Spanish Segunda, but with a bunch of transfers. My team consists of some guys from Almeria and then Tim Howard, Louis Saha, mike magee, eddie gaven, peter crouch, peter vagenas, goran bunjecevic, some others that i cant remmber, but a good bunch of players that you can afford (its impossible to buy becks, edgar davids, theirry henry, oliver khan, etc)

my grievance is that once you go to professional level, your team becomes anemic on every level. it's not so much that the computer's talent level raises, its that yours becomes terrible.
- Passes go directly to computer players,
- your goalkeeper no longer jumps for saves, he just falls down and lets them roll by, when he can get his hands on a shot, he cant catch it.
- The only way to win a 50/50 ball is to cross it to your 1st striker
- Impossible to gain possesion in the closing minutes
- Computer has uncanny ability to score in the 45th minute (just before haftime) and 90th minute, especially when the game is on the line. I dont just mean score, i mean, you can't pick off a pass, you cant tackle.
- Tackling has become worthless. If you can tackle, the computer never loses the ball and you take longer to recover from the stumble than the computer does. Fouls are never called on the computer, whereas if you so much as touch the computer player you will be whistled.

Other grievances not related to Professional mode:
- No matter how much you work a player's skill, his rating will improve at the most 3 or 4 points over the course of 4-5 years of career
- impossible to purchase big name players, as your transfer budget is usually around 10 mil, meanwhile, you cant get rid of the the cheap players and your dont want to sell the good mid-price ones
- Working a players individual skill does nothing, as theres never a significant improvement on that skill.

EA definitely needs to fix this by the next game, or they'll lose themselves a customer.

It would be nice if they could actually get all the players in the right positions (Twellman).

The training mode needs to improve, the career needs lengthened, the players need to age, dribbling skills need to actually mean something, length of injuries need to actually be correct, we need to find out who at EA got their girlfriend stolen by Brian McBride (seriously, the fourth best forward for the Crew?), etc...

How about the ability to fake people out on the dribble or atleast get by them? It is impossible to get by someone.

For those of you who can't wait, (and can't help but play these EA games, even if they suck) EA just released the demo for Euro 2004. Only played one game, feels different from FIFA 2004, go download it.

I am currently playing my third season with Carlisle United and am in the English First Division. I am currently in first place and win by most matches by at least 4 to 5 goals. I am in the semi-finals of the League Cup and UEFA Cup, so I am not having any of the problems you are complaining about with Professional mode. I have not lost a game yet. But then again, I pretty much have an all-star lineup of the U.S. Under 23 National Team and two English Premier League defenders. But I agree with the money problems. I still think the game is getting better and more addicting each year even though it may not be as great as Winning Eleven. I think one day FIFA will be like all the other EA Sports titles that have recently responded to the competition and improved dramatically (or at least like they should). I think we are all just getting a little picky now that EA has actually improved the game so much the past couple of years.
