Didn't look this up, I followed the Phils for a bit starting in '76 when I would drive up with my Dad, who was a salesman for Baxter Travenol. He'd go on his calls and I would hack around Philly during the day. We'd hit the ball game at night, then the
businessman's special at 12:30 the next day before heading home. Good times.

Yep. You're right. The O's acquired him for the stretch run in 1989 and he helped a little bit. If I can recall correctly, Moreland stunned the team by announcing his retirement rather than travel with the team to the final three games in Toronto that season.
Maybe he listened to Nils Lofgren's "Keith, Don't Go"
One of the lyrics is "Keith don't go to the town called Toronto" (Song written for Keith Richards)
