For those that didn't know, the Champions League draw was done today and Chalate was drawn against DC United in the preliminary round.
Metapan are in Group A.
The other teams in Metapan's group are:
Houtson Dynamo
Pachuca or Jalapa
Olimpia or Arabe Unido
The first leg of the preliminaries will be held on July 28, while the second leg will be on August 4.
The group stage will then begin on August 18.

Will Metapan or Chalate get to play in their own stadium or will they have to play at Cuscatlan like Firpo had to?

Well Metapan wasn't allowed to play at home last year, so i doubt things will change this time around. As for Chalate, well i wouldn't know. But if Metapan's stadium doesn't meet FIFA regulations, then i doubt their's will. Infact i think i recall an article from last year saying Cuscatlan stadium was the only stadium in El Salvador that was usable. If that's the case, then i guess they'll be playing there too.

Bueno o malo, depende de los ojos con que se vea. El Chalatenango, que aún no termina de conformarse, resultó sorteado con el DC United como rival en la ronda previa de la “Concachampions”.......

I hate how things work in El Salvador soccer, chalatenango it's out of the tournament before even playing DCU. what a shame, i was really looking forward to watch them play at the concacaf level.

Hopefully Aguila or CD FAS go. I would hate to see Firpo go again from what happen last time they went to play and plus the way they were playing last season.

If they use the same qualification method that they had when Chalate qualified in the first place, then Firpo would be the only other team that now has the right to qualify. After that, it would be Aguila (if they use the old method). FAS has no chance of playing this time.

Lets hope for Aguila to be the one, Firpo had the chance already and the blew it. Is time for the big guy to get the shot.

Well things are looking promising for you as Firpo have said they would not be willing to go as there is not enough time to prepare. Who knows though, they could chance their minds or CONCACAF could just decide to give it to someone else completely. Either way, i feel bad for the "big guys" who have to hope for bad things like this to happen so that they can make a regional tournament. If only they could actually make it on merit. Wouldn't that be something :D

*Firpo has accepted CONCACAF's invitation to replace fellow Salvadoran club Chalatenango in the Champions League and will face DCU in the two-leg preliminary stage, starting July 28 at RFK Stadium.

I wish both of the Salvadoran clubs the best of luck. I would like them to go far, and who knows maybe catch the eye of some of the players, especially Salazar.
