I dought there are many people that have been to all of them. Of the 2 i've been to (Old Trafford, Amsterdam ArenA) I would go for Amsterdam which is a fantastic Stadium with equaly fantastic public transport which drops you right outside the ground.

I say that it is the Azteca. It has a history that few can come close to. Pele and Maradona both were crowned world champions there. It is the site of what many consider to be the greatest world cup game ever and the hand of God game was played their. It seats more than 100,000 and is just overall a great stadium.

While Highbury is a nice ground I don't think its one of the best, even in England. The new Arsenal Stadium in Ashburton Grove could be one of the best when it's built though.

I think Highbury is the best stadium in the world. It doesnt have a great capasity but its a classic old style English football ground, the stands hug the touchland, and the clocks give it a touch of class. Even as a Man Utd fan, Highbury is still the best stadium, just a pitty who play there.
Also Old Trafford, White Hart Lane (you gotta love that gold bird on top of the stand), and the Nou Camp are also all very high up there. The Old Wembly was the best until it was knocked down (it had the most history) but the new Wembly will be even better.

The Old Wembly Stadium was a right dive, it didn't matter where you sat the view was always bad. I was thrilled when they demolished it.

Old Wembly had a great views. But its the history of the place which makes it great. Back in the old days it took 170,000 all standing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think Wembly was ever all standing, The royal box would have been seated for a start. Nor do I think that the official capacity was ever any where near 170000. I agree that the place had History, a History of people not being able to see the sodding game, especially if you where sat in the lower tier when it had fences around the pitch.

Either San Siro or the Luigi Ferraris stadium in Genoa.
The Westfalenstadion in Dortmund is nice too, as are lots of English ones.

Has got to be the Stade de France for me. Just a quality and historical stadium IMO.

The Stade de France is quite nice but does not have the best atmosphere (maybe it's the fans, not the ground), and there's very little that is historical about it except for the World Cup final in 1998 which it was built for. If you have to pick a historical stadium in Paris, then it would be the Parc des Princes, upgrades and all, right? Best places to enjoy a fantastic atmosphere have to be La Bombonera and Highbury, for quite different reasons of course. For histroical purposes I would pick Maracana, the Azteca and Old Trafford - awe-inspiring places really. Watching a game at the Bernabeu or Nou Camp is also a great experience. So many grounds, so little time...

I loved standing crowds, the Kop had a wonderful atmosphere. Shoulder to shoulder, singing and shouting...
Wouldn't make the top 3 though..!

Old Trafford is quite impressive. I liked the ArenA, but it had the same feel that all those modern stadia have - a bit Identikit. Sunderland's Stadium of Light is another example - a very well-designed stadium but with no real character.
Wembley was a bit of a dump although I do remember occasions there with a great atmosphere - when we beat Scotland in Euro 96 it was incredible. But the transport links were rubbish and the views were sometimes terrible. The new stadium should be quality.
Personally I liked the Bernabeu best out of all the grounds I've visited - although I haven't been to the Nou Camp, which is a great stadium by all accounts.

The Azteca, for its history and its size. The home team is almost gauranteed a win if its full.

I've seen this stadium before and when I looked at it I thought it would hold at least 65,000 but it only holds 45. I guess its because the walls are so tall, I bet any seat in there would give you a great view.

A mediocre stadium but the best atmosphere in the world goes to the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
As far as architecural genius goes: Bayern Munichs Olimpic Stadion is really a masterpiece of contemporary art.
