Well, normally I would laugh my ass off but it is a Cup game. Those are notoriously hard games as EVERYONE is up to play Bayern.

Below is the article in Deutsch. I will translate (fast) as I have to head out.
On Monday, striking hopeful Kenny Cooper from Dallas flies in and, after a medical check, the Texan will sign a three year deal with the Loewen. "Kenny is a hard worker, such that fits perfectly with 1860," says sport director Miki Stevic. Cooper is despite his size "very fast" and "technically well versed". As to the problem of adjusting to a new team, Stevic suspects, "For shooting and speed it makes no difference if you played along the Nil or Isar rivers. And the goal posts are as wide here as they are in America." Cooper will were #33 with 1860.
Kenny Cooper: Welcome to Bavaria!

I think Dopple-Drei (hey, trying to come up with a good name for him) will have something of an adjustment period. It is only common sense. But the language of football knows no bounds...

Hopefully, we'll see a few "doppelpaks" from "Doppel Drei!" ;)
Next Saturday evening, I'll probably be at Champions Sports Bar in the Munich Marriott to check out the Hoffenheim-BayScum match.
If Kenny is already in town, hopefully, he'll be there too.

According to this Transfermarkt.de article (http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/news/30209/loewen-verpflichten-us-stuermer.html), the transfer of USA international striker Kenny Cooper for MLS club FC Dallas to 1860 München is complete.
The final hurdle was Cooper passing his medical today, which he did.
I'm guessing this will be too soon for Cooper to play in 1860's first match of the 2nd Bundesliga season this coming Sunday against Koblenz at the Allianz Arena, but I'll be there hoping to cheer him on.

Merkur is reporting (http://www.merkur-online.de/sport/tsv-1860/meta-texas-bodden-verpflichtung-fix-428020.html?cmp=defrss) the signing (finally) of KC. Transfermarkt report here (http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/news/30209/loewen-verpflichten-us-stuermer.html).
Pictures of him arriving here (http://www.merkur-online.de/sport/tsv-1860/meta-texas-bodden-verpflichtung-fix-428020.html).
Kenny Cooper is a Lion
The club made the announcement this afternoon. After the medical check up the striker signed a three year deal. He is the striker-of-choice, a "name" those in power have been looking for, one that was secured just last week. Immediately the profile was clear: He is a person like Olad Bodden have the Lions finally secured. The attacker from the Texas first division FC Dallas has been in the sights of the Lions for weeks. "Kenny Cooper is a choice striker with a strong shot", said Miki Stevic about the new Sechz'ger. "Along with his strength in the air, he possesses good technical skills." Cooper is a forward who's type is current not seen on the roster. "With him we can vary our attack", said Stevic. "With his qualities is Kenny the ideal new signing for our offensive play." The 6'3" striker will play next to Benny Lauth in 1860's attack. With his physical stature he can redirect cross or play them himself on goal. In 90 games in the US first division he scored 40 times, in 9 national team games he has scored 4 times. Cooper will keep the number #33 with the Lions. If you want to meet him live, keep tuesday afternoon open. After teh 10:00 training session the US-Boy will be presented to the press at 12 Noon. After that there will be another training at 17:00.

No way I can do that. I've already got Monday off to recover from what will be one hell of a day on Sunday.
I'm escorting a group of 13 from here at the Marshall Center to the match on Sunday.
After the match, we're going over to the Summerfest at the Olympiapark.
As if we need an excuse, but the weather is predicted to be 30 degrees Celsius with very few clouds in the sky.
You know the beer will flow even more under those conditions! LOL!! :D
If they've got him in the Marriott, I'm hoping he comes down to Champions' for the Hoffenheim-BayScum match on Saturday evening.
I should be there for that.

Dude, if you meet him PLEASE tell him that my kids showed to the FCD game on Saturday wearing BOTH their FCD shirts AND 1860 shirts...already with #33 on them (both). They got stopped by tons of people asking them where they got the 1860 shirts so fast.

Yes, sent them the stuff yesterday. They will send me the link when it is online. With the KC signing and the fact these boys are from TX, should make a good story.
