Former 1860 midfielder Matthias Lehmann moves from Alemannia Aachen to FC St. Pauli - Free Transfer
Lehmann signed a two-year contract with St. Pauli.
Click here (http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/news/19017/m-lehmann-zu-st-pauli.html) for an article at Transfermarkt.de.
In addition to FCA, I like a few of the moves Pauli has made. Damn, I wish we could have gotten Lehmann. There is a depressing article in Kicker (http://www.kicker.de/news/fussball/2bundesliga/startseite/artikel/510025/#team_1860muenchen) where Stevic states "we have completed 90% of our transfer targets for the summer".
REALLY???!!! That's it? We have released more players than we have signed!!!!! THIS will get us to promotion in 2010 Herr Stevic?? Hell, FCA made more transfer-free moves than we did....again.
I hope this shows, even the most zealously clueless 1860 fans, that Stevic is an empty-headed stuffed shirt who knows NOTHING and does even less!!!!

Here's to hoping he gets his ass kicked to the curb at the first possible opportunity.
Time to drop back 10 yards and punt!

Kicker is reporting Kaiserslautern has a new trainer in Marco Kurz but my command of German tenses is not that great so I don't know if this is rumor of permanent job or a temporary job or . . .?

If true, great for Kurz. As usual, sucks for Sechzig.

Still just a rumor, but that would be a nice step up for Kurz.
Since Stevic was stupid enough to let him go, he deserves the backlash.

I would call it speculation with some substance.
Although, the ex-1860 coach I would recommend to anyone would be Uwe Wolf.......

It's wicked speculation. I considered making up some shit like that last season.
Looks like someone finally did it........
I wouldn't blame Didi Hamann for wanting to finish his career in Germany, but I don't see him doing it with Bayern's city rivals.
I could see him joining someone like Hannover, Gladbach, Frankfurt or Stuttgart, but not 1860.

In something more realistic, "Fester" was given his walking papers by 1. FC Köln yesterday.
For those who don't know, we "affectionately" call former 1860 midfielder Nemanja Vucicevic "Uncle Fester" or "Fester" for his resemblance to said "Addams Family" character.
Take a look.

http://mediadb.kicker.de/news/1000/1100/4000/artikel/377367/323894.jpg
"Kicker" says 1. FC Köln took so long to inform him of their decision because they wanted to include their new coach in the decision-making process.
He's now available on a free transfer, but is also known to have interest from Bochum and possibly Gladbach and Freiburg.
Even if those clubs are interested, I think Stevic should take a shot at getting this guy.
I haven't been "thrilled" by any of his signings so far. The only one that even impressed me a little was Ludwig.
Ludwig and "Fester" are the same type of player, but "Fester" is much better.
Getting "Fester" would create a logjam in midfield and at striker, but it would allow them to try to find a buyer for Sasha Rösler too.
I know Didi Hamann is a bigger name, but I'd rather have "Fester" back........ :D

On travel this week so I will make it short....
Kurz: Great to see. He will make them a good team and a competitor next season. 1860 will get totally f'd by them twice next season.
Fester: I don't think he will come back to the 2.BL and certainly NOT to 1860. His reason for leaving was b/c he thought he was 1.BL caliber and he still is. He will catch on with a mid-, lower-tier 1.BL team or at very least at one of the top 2.BL teams. Could see him going to FCK honestly. Watch out for FCA too.
Hamann: No way he comes to 1860. The guy has made some seriously good career moves and he is not stupid enough to come to 1860. They guy could still play in the EPL at his age, which means he would EASILY play in the 1.BL for any team below BVB. He will play 1.BL ball and then retire....not 2.BL.

Probably. Kurz hasn't been officially hired yet.

Which is why I suggested that Stevic "take a shot" despite the RUMORED 1. Liga interest.
All that can happen is that Fester says "no". Who knows, maybe he "Serb" connection might finally mean something other than f#ck all.

He isn't going to get THAT much attention from the top ten in the 1. BL simply because people here are frightened by age.
But I agree with you on his not coming back to play in the 2. Liga.
If he wanted to play in any second division, he could always just go back to Newcastle.....

Garry, it seems we were both DEAD WRONG on Hamann!
This is from today's print version of "Kicker":
1860 New Talks: Didi Hamann (35, Manchester City) whose contract has expired and has been complementary toward 1860. Hamann said of a possible transfer to 1860, “(1860 is) a great club which belongs in the 1st Bundesliga. I could see (playing at Sechzig) that easily and I do want to play two more years.”
And in German......
EDIT: After I did that typing myself, the f#ckers put the article on-line!
What I typed is the only part that pertains to Hamann, but the rest of it is about how a slight rise in season ticket prices should give Sechzig another 1.8M to spend on the team.

According to this article (http://www.abendzeitung.de/sport/tsv_1860/113458) from the Münchner Abendzeitung, BVB and 1860 München have agreed to a deal that will see the clubs trade players.
Antonio Rukavina will permanently move to 1860 München where he spent the second half of last season on loan and played very well for them.
In return, BVB will receive highly-regarded U-19 European Championship winning midfielder Sven Bender.
Sven Bender had already been linked to us before and chances were high that we’d get him, but for a 1.5-3M Euro transfer fee. Apparently, the two clubs had been talking a deal that would see the players switch clubs plus a 1M Euro transfer fee going from 1860 to BVB.
The article posted is just first word. There has been no word from either club on the deal and I don’t see that any other news outlet has picked up on the story. Not even “Bild.”
So, I guess we’ll see later if it is even true or not.
EDIT: They have updated the article with BVB boss Watzke confirming the deal is close to being done. Click Here (http://www.abendzeitung.de/sport/tsv_1860/113458) if the link above is not updated.
Click here (http://www.derwesten.de/nachrichten/sport/fussball/1-bundesliga/bvb/2009/6/18/news-123026656/detail.html) for the article Watzke confirms the transfer in. This article says that the trade consists of Rukavina to 1860 with Bender and "a low seven-figure" payment going to BVB. I would assume that "low seven figure payment" is probably between 1 and 1.5M Euros

Not sure if I like this, but at least Rukavina's a decent player and we wouldn't lose one or both of the Bender twins for nothing - or Stevic splurging on a second-rate/has-been player with the transfer fee.
I wonder if the other Bender will soon be joining his twin in Dortmund...

No, he will not be. There is already a deal in place for Lars to join Leverkusen after this season.
Leverkusen took advantage of the buyout clause in Lars' contract.
I take it you weren't around when we discussed that on the last thread. :)

So, I told you guys about buying 20 1860 kits for my U10 boys right? The TZ (Tageszeitung) had a great deal where I could get the home, away and third trikots for 29,90 for all three. Well I placed the order and got a REAL nice reply back from them. They were so intrigued by the fact that someone in the US would outfit their team in 1860 garb that they want to publish a team picture in an upcoming issue of the TZ. Moreover, they offered to print up a poster-sized team photo for every player. How cool is that???
I always liked the TZ folks when I was there, but they have gone out of their way to be great to a group of kids they have never met. I will be sure to post the link to the published pic when it goes online. My kids are besides themselves.:D

According to this article (http://www.fussballtalente.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=196:bussmann-verlaesst-blackburn&catid=3:kurzmeldungen&Itemid=18) Germany U-18 goalkeeper Björn Bussmann is joining 1860 from Blackburn Rovers.
The article says Bussmann was no longer first choice in his group at Blackburn's youth academy.
