I doubt this guy would be a long-term solution. Just someone to aid in the promotion push.
I just said I have not problem with older signings. But to fire certain guys using the age arguement only to bring in even OLDER guys is just STUPID.
It will be live in front of my mug, and plastic beer "mug" for that matter :D

I still say Lauth/Schaeffler is potentially our best striker pair based on complementing abilities and skill sets.
For me, that depends on where Ludwig will play.
If Ludwig is going to be tapped to play up front, I'd pick him with Lauth.
Same with Roesler.

Didn't see that anywhere. You know I don't read your posts! ;) :D

I assume you're referring to diSalvo here?
I guess that comes with Stevic not having the courage to say he got rid of the guy not because of his age, but because he f#cking sucks.
I'm sorry man, I know you think of diSalvo as a good Sechzig guy, but he did/does SUCK.
Do I know Gimenez would be better? No.
But are the chances of that much greater? Yes.
EDIT: Perhaps they will bring in the Eneramo kid mentioned in the TZ article and none of this will matter.
Some guy at Transfermarkt.de says Bielefeld were interested in Eneramo too.

Will do - I don't have internet in my place here, so it will be Monday before I return to the web.
Also, I read the Munich edition of Bild today in a train and there was a glowing article on McLovin. Said his transfer was a regular Glücksgriff and that he has already taken over on the field after a couple of practices.

I don't think they will move Ludwig to play a striking role with Lauth. By all accounts he is doing a nice job in setting up attack. He is not a Goektan-type AM, but more of a more classic German/Dutch attacking midfielder who slowly creates the space and then, through vision, slots the pass through.

No, not referring to DiSalvo. I am willing to conceed he was not what I expected. He was injured most of last year and I would have liked to see if he had it, but not now. And you are right, Stevic is a two-faced bastard....we knew that much already. He has no balls and no one respects him as a result.

We won't get him because he wants too much.

I have heard the same thing which is nice to see. THAT is the type of player 1860 needs. I hope he will continue to shine. By all accounts I have heard from locals watching training, he is really taking hold.
When I make it back to Muenchen we will need to hook up with Footy for a bier. My treat if you can make it down the U6 towards Westpark. :D
Boo....
Give a brother a break. If I were him I would have taken a picture of the ticket in the boobs of a hot chick drinking a large Mass and sent it in...so be thankful HE had tact. :D

Would love to but my "German Summer" is coming to an end. I have had a guest lecturing gig in Paderborn all summer and will be heading back stateside on August 11. Thanks to the World Cup next summer, however, I get a last soccer hoorah before I get on the plane. I did see footy in Dortmund, though. There is a picture of us in the Biergarten in front of the Westfalenstadion floating around here somewhere. It was the Karlsruhe game.

True. Although the boobs and beer combo is always nice to see.

Hmmm... What are the chances we can get Sechzig over here for a few friendlies next year?
Just thinking out loud...

Garry,
Nice dig on the Bayern fans about Loewen TV. It really is a bargain. It turned out to be $56.00 after conversion and all. Still, a great deal! I am looking forward to it!

An article on a Californian kid (going to play at St. John's) that was with 1960's U15s for a bit. I had no idea 1860 had American connections that young. The "Blue Star" program that is mentioned in the article is the one Klinnsman played for when he was in California.

Well, seems that Lienen has decided that Lars Bender will not be a starter for the club; opting rather to go with his new signings at defensive midfield. So, one would think he would give Lars a bit of leeway and let him go to Egypt for the U20 WM, right?
Not so. Seems Lienen has forbidden Bender from attending (http://www.abendzeitung.de/sport/tsv_1860/122207). Given that the tourney comes at a time when 1860 has only BL games (no cup games) AND they are letting Jungwirth go (who is ALSO backup for the very weak defense we have), this move makes NO SENSE!!!
If I were Lars I would be setting up a talk with Lienen and Stevic. Let's face it, the kid has a long, bright future in Germany....something NEITHER Lienen nor Stevic have.:mad::mad: He can afford to piss these douche bags off.

Lars should give Rudi Voeller a call and see if that departure date for Leverkusen can't be moved up.
After all, Lars was left at Sechzig for this season to get PLAYING TIME........

EXACTLY!!!
My guess is Stevic might get a call before Lasr has a chance to get to Stevic anyway. This is the SAME THING Stevic accused Kurz and Wolf about when they did not use Gulan last spring. SAME DAMN THING!!!! And Stevic bitched all spring about how he cannot go to Fiorentina anymore because he "personally stuck his neck out to get a player whom his coaches did not use at all." How is THIS any different?!?!??!?:mad::mad:

Seems we could not lure a new sponsor, so we found an old one. LiquiMoly (http://www.tsv1860.de/de/aktuell/news/2009/news_2009-07-29_liqui-moly.php) will be our sponsor again. Sad, but our new kits will look like shiite with that logo on it.
They signed a two year contract. The kits will be ready for the team this weekend. Still no sign of the new away kit.
