...such that it is...is here (http://www.abendzeitung.de/sport/tsv_1860/119929).

German board ticker updated from sms from the field is here (http://www.loewenfreun.de/loewenforum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=19551).

EDIT:
1-0 though Holebas. Evidently a real kracher!!!

All the guys on the German boards are starting to talk promotion...ROFLMMFAO. After one goal??? Puleez.

Vice President Maget is even as stupid, "That, which I see here, makes me happy. We are in good standing and lead 1:0. I believe we may have a very successful season?"

What a clown!!!! He said the same thing last year. And the year before. One would think that as an 1860 executive he would know that you should avoid empty platitudes and focus only on the game at hand. Making statement about the future in this club is just stupid. After 35+ years of being a fan even *I* know that!!!!

Romanian striker Florin Lovin (http://www.abendzeitung.de/sport/tsv_1860/120083) has signed with 1860 on a two year contract for just 100k in transfer.

All the German boards seems to be in lovin with this guy and saying how we cannot lose promotion this season. All that tells me is 1) they don't know dick, 2) he probably ain't all that good, but I will reserve comment, and 3) we are likly headed for a mid-table result.

I call it Loewenboy's Law of Inverse Relationships: If the "normal" 1860 fans think we will do poorly, we will do well. If they think we will do great, we are in a relegation fight.

Who in the hell really knows how this club will perform? And, even if they play "well" in the first half, we all know what can happen after the winter break.

So, we shall see...

Exactly. It's just speculation. The keys to ANY team doing ANYTHING are consistency, health, depth and luck.

Personally, I will consider the season a success if Sechzge can avoid the "half-andhalf" seasons we have had since 2003 where we do great, then bad or bad, then great. A nice consistent run would be nice to see.

Of course, I mean nice, consistent GOOD run.

Really, if Sechzig were still even within a whiff of contention for promotion in the Rueckrunde, I have a feeling all of us would be climbing the walls, waiting for the proverbial other shoe to drop, or something along those lines...

ROFL....I would have to find something else to do in the spring if that ever happened. Hell, I usually am trying to run a lottery on when our first win will be each spring.

Florin Lovin was signed and is undergoing a medical today. The transfer fee was originally reported but the real terms are not yet disclosed.
DiSalvo appears to have left camp for a medical in Greece. He may be leaving 1860 for a Greek side as early as this week. No word on which club it is. Wha tpuzzles me is that he has a contract through 2010 with the club and yet Stevic has said he can go without a trnasfer. This must mean that the only way to get rid of him is to do it on a free. How depressing.
Nicolas Fauvergue will be reportedly loaned out to 1860. Terms and confirmation have not been forthcoming, though he does appear to be in Muenchen.
1860 appear to be testing Leandro dos Santos (short Brazlian name is "Messias") in training this week. He plays left outside defender for Chernomorets Burgas in Bulgaria. He is 25.
One thing bothers me: Sure Stevic appears to be working the phone lines, but he appears to ONLY have connections in Eastern Europe. Those that he has outside of that region come from Lienen's son-in-law/assistant coach who is French. That is a very limited view of the World. Let's see how successful he is.

When I first saw that name, I thought someone was making a joke by playing on one of the main characters from "Superbad". LOL!!!

But now, I hope this guy can actually do something for Sechzig! I hope so!!

I know the feeling. We had to let Giovanni Federico go on a free a bit more than a week ago and that hurt.

We didn't pay anything for him, but when you can't get money for players who can actually play a little bit, it is depressing.

Especially when you see how money is thrown around these days.

Who??

And I'm not saying anything about the guy because I don't know him. When I say "Who?" I'm actually asking the question.

Again, "who??"

I do hope these guys kick some ass if they join 1860 though.

He also needs to get "control" of Bayern again. There's still loads of talent to be had in the Freistaat......... ;)

You KNOW if I still lived there I would be in the AA every other weekend with a sign saying, "Give me some McLovin!!!"

I like DiSalvo personally....he has always been a good guy and a good Loewen. But when you have to offer up a player for free just to get him off your roster, THAT's sad....for both parties.

Who?? And I'm not saying anything about the guy because I don't know him. When I say "Who?" I'm actually asking the question.
Guy plays for Lille (http://www.lfp.fr/joueur/index.asp?no_joueur=105602&page=carriere) and saw some CL action. Someone put up a montage of his goals...such that they are. HEll, at 24 maybe he is good. Jury out so I will reserve comment. If he plays regularly and can net between 7-10 I will consider him a good propsect. If he plays sparse and still nets 5-7, same thing. Nets under 4 and I consider him flop city. Looking at his career stats I do not hold out hope he is more than a 4 goal striker.

Faufergue is reported in the french media (http://www.merkur-online.de/sport/tsv-1860/franzose-soll-offensivprobleme-loewen-loesen-mm-417833.html?cmp=defrss) as going to 1860 on a one year loan with an option to buy at the end of the loan.
At halftime at the Geisinger Heimatabend this week a lucky fan can win a total 1860 kit. They will have to put on the old kit (shorts, shirt, socks), take it all back off and put on the new kit. The fastest time wins both kits.:D
1860 plays Iraklis Soloniki today. Live ticker here (http://www.abendzeitung.de/sport/tsv_1860/120483). Game starts at 1745 local time (1245 EDT).

Sechzge won 2-0 on goals from Ludwig (set piece from 18m out) and Mlapa, who came in for Schaeffler in the second half.

Seems that Lienen again played a mixture of "starters" and test players. Many of 1860s bigger names did not play, including Lovin who went back to Romania to close up things and return to training on Friday.

The club has until Thursday in Austria and then returns to Germany next Friday.

Man, when you want the definition of a REAL professional, jsut read this (http://www.abendzeitung.de/sport/tsv_1860/120544). Of course, you might have to throw it in a translator, but you will get the gist. In a nutshell I will sum it up. Michi realizes he is the #3 choice at keeper, despite being totally healthy and on great form. He is 36 and has been with the club for 14 years. Rather than do as many would have and leave the club to find another 2.BL team to mind the nets for, he has been realistic in that he wants to continue his career AFTER football with 1860. Problem: No one has spoken to him yet about staying on!!!???? And yet his response has been to continue to be the good boy, play his role, not complain and wait for management to do the right thing. Now THAT is blind confidence in a group that has been known to bend over and screw ANYONE they feel like.

I hope mgmt wakes up and does the right thing. To let the guy who has played more games for 1860 than any other player rot in the U23 team without any definitive word on his future is nothing but criminal!!!!

This amuses me to no end (http://www.tz-online.de/sport/tsv-1860/meta-skacel-verpflichtung-alles-offen-419435.html?cmp=defrss). This guy made HUGE coin in the EPL and people think 1860 can afford him????:D And having only played 16 games with Hertha last year (on loan), one has to wonder what his agent is smoking when, at 30, the guy is clearly on the down-side of his career. Sure a team like Hannover or BVB or another decent 1.BL side can afford him, but who is going to put out too much coin for a 30 year-old who was not a stammspieler???? Southampton have let him go and his agent is playing contract poker sayin he has "all sorts of offers, especially from Sapin but would rather come to Germany because getting paid in Spain is a big concern." ROFLMMFAO. Riiiiiight....many offers.

I hope *IF* we get this guy we low-ball him and only give him a 1 year performance-based contract to see what he can do. anything else is social security for an aging player.....something that 1860 has done FAR too often in the last 5 years.

Well, seems FC Lille want to sell this guy rather than loan him out. Plus, they are asking a HUGE transfer sum. That should be a HUGE sign that either 1) this guy ain't all he's cracked up to be (in that the team wants to sell him fast rather than loan him), and/or 2) that they want to get rid of 1860 as a coutier so that they can get a REAL team to buy the guy. Cannot be a secret we do not have $$$. My guess is they pegged teh transfer fee high to get us out of the picture. Of course, if they truly want to get rid of him they'd better hurry...the window is closing.

At any rate, looke like 1860 will be looking for striker elsewhere.
