Word! I like Latin Go Ska, Guns of Navarone and Occupation. They were also the accompanying band to a young Bob Marley & the Wailers Simmer Down, one of the most covered songs I've heard in ska.
Down with 2Tone too. Dave Wakeling actually performs in local bars in SoCal.

From Trojan, I have History of Trojan Records: 1968 - 1971, a 2-disc set of roots reggae. Good stuff. And here are a few more Skatalite jams I dig: Phoenix City, El **********cat and Freedom Sound.
There are some recent bands that that have awesome tunes like the Slackers and Hepcat (disbanded). I had no idea about Slade playing ska. And although I haven't heard much Judge Dred, I do know his songs are rather saucy; I mean, what else could he be talking about when he says "the biggest bean you ever seen". ;)
Man, I'm going to have to listen to my ska collection again just to get reacquainted.

Got to give props to Bad Manners, and Buster Bloodvessel. They put on a hell of a live show, he's got loads of energy for a fat guy, plus he was involved with a football team for awhile. I can't remember which one?

The Pilfers, too bad they broke up. They did one demo album that's damn hard to find and one on Mojo Records called Chawalang.

The Specials are brilliant.
As for third-wave ska, the Planet Smashers are great -- Too Much Attitude, Surfin' in Tofino, Life of the Party, Blind...

most def. Skankin Pickle is great. The guys stayed at a friend's house when they were touring Florida a few years ago. Cool guys
The lead singer of RBF is starting a new ska band with some guys from Jeffries Fan club, the forces of evil. It should be pretty good. www.theforcesofevil-ska.com.
NEW RBF cd kicks ass....

Anyone like Mephiskapheles and or Attaboy Skip?
Anyone know where one could find a Siren Six Cd?

Mephiskapheles is the one of the best ska bands out there. Their stuff is too dark for some people (lyrically, mostly) but I love it.
Never heard of Attaboy Skip, though. I'll give them a listen.
Any recomendations??
Today I'll recomend the hippos and Kemuri. Kinda poppy, but what the hell is wrong with that?
listentobobmarley, you're lucky to be able to see the Forces of Evil. I'm dying for some good new Ska over here in FLA.
