Dear Benny:

Thanks for getting over yourself and resurrecting your career in Scandanavia.

Dear Jon:

Thanks for not slipping in the shower and playing up to your potential.

Stop making all of the US fanbase look like a bunch of know-nothing idiots by admitting that you were actually wrong.

Stuff like that just doesn't happen here.

It was great to see Benny back, and he looked pretty good off the bench.

Spector is a guy who if he stays healthy (huge if) I can't see how he isn't in the starting 11 next summer (knock on wood).

Steve Cherundolo may have something to say about it. I like it when someone is injured they must suck. Both will have to play well for us to play well.

Somewhere Brian McBride is smiling.

After I apologized to him this year in Dallas, the smiled, thanked me and then kicked me in the ass, because that's what his wife told him to do if he ever met me.

Spector's health could allow him to play at CB and Bocanegra at LB.

Feilhaber is not 100% yet, but I did like his play tonight, considering he's been MIA for about a year (or two?) now.

It was reported that he had a bit of an ego problem with his English team.

We have a 3rd CB.His name's Jay DeFreakin'Merit.

Spector has been unsuccessful in the middle when played there.

Jon's not a CB. He RARELY plays there for WHU. He's most often on the wing and then more often at DMid than CB. What Jon's doing is (hopefully, I pray hopefully) pushing Frankie out of the picture. He's a warrier, but his offense is too lacking.

On a separate note-- see how we fell apart in the back when Boca went out? I think it's a good thing that he's likely to miss the Italy match (judging by his post-game interview). We REALLY need to develop our depth at CB. There's no way we can play more than a few games and not have card trouble at CB.

Oh, she's smokin'. Seriously smokin'!

Spector>Cherundolo. I like Steve but will never forgive him for his weak performances when it mattered in 06.

But Stevie C would be by far the best backup RB the USA has ever had, provided Spector jumps him in the lineup.

Remember also that Beasley went to LB not long after Boca went out.
