I am looking for a new pair of boots. I play defence and midfield and am not looking for a flashy pair of boots (a la Nike Vapors). I am thinking about Nike Tiempo Premiers and the Umbro Speciali PU. Another choice I have thought about is the Puma Kings. I am looking for a dependable, long -lasting k-skin boot. Please list any experience with these boots along with any horror stoies. If you have any other suggestions to make , feel free to do so.

puma king, what pele wore. they are the best most durable stable i think or some kelmes such as duende amancio or milenia. or even maybe german copa. its up to you. but personally i think these are the best kind of boots out there not all this synthetic crap.

I did not really think about the Copa because I have very wide feet and I have heard that they have a narrow last. I have tried on the regular Indonesian Copa and it seemed a bit snug. Do these shoes stretch? Is there any difference between the German and regular Copa? I also thought about the Puma KSL, is this shoe any good? Sorry for all of these questions!

i have the Puma KSL, F50 and Mania and i LOVE my KSL's very comfortable but i see them a bit narrower then my mania's. I would recommend them though they have lasted ME long, my friend bought 3 pairs straight b/ he liked them so much but his last pair wasnt so great. You should go to a store and try on all the classic type boots.

I would recomend the Staido from Lotto which is a little on the wider side or Tiempo Preimer I have never had a problem with my Tiempo's and I have had them in every version offered(FG,SG,TF,ID). The Brasils from Diadora are top notch too.
I just got my Stadio's the other week so far they have been great , I got them a little snug and I need to strech out the toe box a little more but thats how I wear my boots, the heel counter is very firm and the last is shaped very well for people with a wider forefoot area. Its the best K-leather boot I think I have ever owned and if you look at my previous posts I have/or had just about every boot ever made. Great touch and stability too, you can really strike the ball in these well since they hold your foot so well.

In my opinion for a good pair of 'non-flashy' boots you cannot beat Valsport Fuoriclasse

I like the Stadio alot, but I don't like the neon green color. Our team wears green, but not that much green. Still, I'll consider it. So now it is down to Nike Tiempo Premier, Lotto Stadio, and Puma KSL. Which one has the best leather, comfort, and just and overall good boot. RIght now it is the Lotto Stadio because Jc18star said so and I've read his other posts and it seems like he owns a lot of boots. No Offense to others. LOL. Whoever was talking about KSLs please give more info. And more info on the Tiempo please. Sorry for being so demanding, but when I go to the soccer store, which is at the beach I want to have it narrowed down to 2-3 choices.

Sorry, I don't know how to edit posts, so if someone could please tell me that would be a big help. The reason I wanted to edit was because I wanted to add the Umbro Speciali. Anyone with experience with these boots or the others please speak up.

I have the Umbro's and the Lotto's. I like both boots equally. I have wide feet and the Lotto's are wider. The Umbro's on the other hand are feather light. I've wanted to try the Kelme boots. A number of local players swear by them. Us Louisiana folks seem to have wide feet.......Walking through the Marsh all these years!

I would also recommend the Stadios. Very good k-leather, reasonably light, and good quality. Even though I haven't worn the Specialis, I would recommend them. They used to be the lightest of the "classic" boots (they're still pretty light), and the k-leather and quality looks to be as good as the Lottos.

I'll second that notion. If you're looking for classic boots, there is nothing more classic than the Copa. They do stretch (I have a wide foot), and the durability is unbelievable.

I haven't worn them but worn very similar (worn the World Cups from Adidas) the Profi Cups look sweet with nice soft K-leather and that traditional fan shape Adidas logo

OK I had the Umbro Specali right after WC 02 and they were very light and soft but they blew out after like six training sessions, I would have got a new pair but at the time Umbro was no longer shipping products to the USA, so i lost out and since then I just have not gotten around to buying another pair although I still really want to get another pair.
The KSL is a narrow fitting boot which is strange for Puma I personally didnt like the fit so I never bought it, I think if your going with Puma the regular King is the way to go or even teh all balck K-leather King classic.
The Tiempo is on the narrow side of the the other boots listed here but Nike makes thier toe box more rounded than adidas so it doesnt pinch as much, the boots will strech out quickly, I think this boot is the best Nike has to offer along with the AZT 90 synthetic line but since you want k-leather I would stick with the tiempo if Nike is the brand you want. These kind of run small as well I weara 10 in Copa's and Stadios and a 10 1/2 in these.
The Stadio seems too me to be nearly as light as the Umbro and yeah its a little more on the flash side with the green but now that the boot has been redisigned there is less green and you could always remove the side logo's with a stich ripper and make them a mostly black boot as well.
Another option that no one has mentioned is if you dont mind spending the money is going through Pro Direct in England. They carry the Mizuno Morelia wich is a top of the range classic boot It's sround $140 US and $15 US to ship I bought them a while ago and they are really soft and well made boots they are also wider fitting.
They also have the new Specaili on this site its been redisigned a bit with more white and gold on the boot the fold over tounge is now white, it look a bit like the King now that I think about it, for what ever reason they dont offer this color combo in the USA though. Also the Umbro's run a bit small so I would go up a half size when ordering them.
Good Luck finding the right shoe, let me know what you decide to get.
Cheers, John

Thanks for all the help. If I were to get the KSLs would they stretch. Also, while I was on the Pro-direct website it said that the KSL had Pittards leather and the King had PIttards leather. In Eurosport, it says that the KSL has Pittards and the King has Puma Lite leather. Which one is right. Is there any difference between the 2? Thanks

i have KSL's and they are the EASIEST boots to clean IMO. They are mucher easier to clean then any other boot ive ever had and i have owned a pair of Copas, K. Trueno, Mania, etc.... and these are the easiest to clean by far i would get them but they are not K leather they are called "pittards" thats why they are so easy to clean but they are durable.

I think I will get the Kings or the KSLs but I need someone to answer the questions above. Thanks alot. Right now I am leaning towards the black KSLs, but I am still considering other boots.
