How many Basque clubs are in the top 2 divisions? I know Bilbao & Sociedad.
There are 5 Basque Teams.
First Division
Athletic Bilbao
Real Sociedad
Osasuna (some debate whether this is a Basque club, Its name is Basque and has many Basque followers)
Second Division
Alaves
Eibar
other Basque teams of note
former cup or league winners
Arenas Getxo
Real Irun
is Bilbao the only one with an all Basque policy? I know Sociedad doesn't. Pretty sure that Osasuna & Alaves don't either.

Really? My name is Irish, but I donīt have any Irish followers, unless you include my 10 year old. ;) I did some research after B2B and Nutmeg argued (in the true Big Soccer way) with a few about rather Navarro (the region Pamplona is in) was part of the Basque region. It was for a very short period a long, long time ago. Personally, I wouldnīt call the region Basque, but I would say the regions make good cousins.

Q,
As always I respect your view but I submit some evidence for my claim.
Many players born in Navarre play for the Basque National Team . Urzaiz, Tiko and the like.
So you must admit there is a reconizable Basque prescence in navarre.
Second the team has a large Basque following, and the live in Pamplona. While they doesn't make a team a Basque club, it does make them a club with a deep association with Basques
Third and last El Vasco Javier Aguirre!!! :D

ŋJavier Aguirre? I remember him from the round of 16 game at WC 2002. Some say he was involved in a significant game a week ago in Madrid, but I donīt recall anything of the sort. ;)

There is a large Basque population in San Francisco and Bakersfield, CA where I went to high school so I have quite a few Basque friends. And being a history nerd, I just picked up some words and facts about Basque History. You don't have to dig too deep before the words "Gure Amentsa" come along.
I did not know, however, there was a Basque National Team. Obviously, they would not be recognized as a "National" Team by FIFA, so against whom and where do they play?

They are unofficial, they are not a "nation" (i.e. see wales, england, scotland and see how phony that is) But they play once a year, during "christmas break'. They usually play at San Mames in Bilbao. they have played Argentina, Brazil, Ghana, Uruguay, Yugoslavia to name some.
BTW, weren't you lucky to grow up with a lot of Basques :p :p

Osasuna and Real Sociedad used to have Basque-only policies, but both have fallen a bit by the wayside. They prefer to have Basque players. It is a bit of a bone of contention among the three of them that Bilbao always takes their best Basque players. Games among the three teams are always for regional bragging rights.
Navarra is definetly Basque--though the southern region much less so. The Basques have lived in the Pyrennees since the beginning of time, and extended themselves a bit north, a bit south, and into the Cantabrians (though how much further west of Bilbo I can't say off the top of my head). Until Franco, many, if not most people in the mountain villages of Navarra spoke exclusively Basque. The Basque flag is seen all over Pamplona (Iruna in Basque--they're a clever creative lot, with Irun simply meaning "city").

Interesting, isn't it, who is recognized and who is not, FIFA and otherwise!
...And yes, I suppose it was lucky for me to grow up with a lot of Basques. Definitely some of the better folks I know.

Real Zaragoza is in Aragon (Zaragoza is the capital), which is not part of the Basque country.
