I was wondering how many of you stick to one sports brand when it comes to football/soccer. I can say hand on the heart that i try as much as possible to buy Adidas gear cos i think that it is the best make by far. I buy the boots, socks, shin pads, shorts, tops, etc cos i think it looks better when you have the one brand as opposed to mix and match. Looks a bit more professional Maybe its just me. :o

I wouldn't wear one brand of anything unless I was sponsored, I'd get whatever was appropriate. Honestly, I don't think anyone is going to notice/care if you wear different makes of equipment.

Out of interest, what are you talking about? I can only think of one visible piece of football equipment you would be wearing, and that's boots. The make of your strip (shorts, jersey, socks) would be determined by your club, and that only leaves shinguards, which nobody sees anyway. So what's there to coordinate?

Not one brand when you play matches in your kit i mean if you are training, when you take your own gear. I know it doesn't matter i was just seeing if anyone is like me and DOES like to stick to the one manufacturer. Some people like Nike boots but reebok tops i don't know, i happen to like everything Adidas produce does anyone else think the same?

In regardsd to shin pads being hidden, i meant to talk about technology of weight of such products. Of course they are hidden but i want to know if people regularly buy the same make time and time again because their products are reliable.

I play with Predator Mania's but most of my tops are Nike dri-fit(best stuff ever) and my only adidas jersey is Real Madrid. Other than that it's Umbro(Chelsea, Ireland) or Nike.(US Men)
I just ordered the new Nike AZT 90 III's we'll see how those work out inside before I'm out 185$. Previous AZT's have not fit me correctly. 11.5 to small....12 HUGE. But they look cool so I'm going to give it a shot.

Those AZT III's look like blocks on the end of your feet although saying that, it's only my opinion and i haven't tried them on they could be the sweetest boots in the world and i wouldn't have a clue. How did you find the Mania's and why did you choose the AZT III's instead of the new Pulses -just out of interest. I got em and they are the best thing since sliced bread!!!

My friend told me the AZT III's are slightly heavy, but the padded protection is excellent, protecting your foot and improving shooting power at the same time, he recommends it to attacking midfielders who fire the occasional piledriver. Oh and its very comfortable :D

P.S.- Not THAT heavy, only when compared to the Vapor. Nike put out these babies to compete with the P50's. I think they may help put some spin on yer shot too but I spin alot with my Vapors anyways.

sticking with one brand would be shocking if you were a keeper....

Wouldn't be overly shocking, look at (i know they're professionals but still) Oliver Kahn and Jerzy Dudek both fully kitted out by Adidas-boots, gloves, shin pads. It is very much possible to be kitted out in one brand gear if you are a keeper due to the huge range of gloves on the market

Well, it all depends... the only thing my team set is our jersey... other than that, we are pretty much on our own... I have a pair of adidas predator mania (lunar) with white nike long socks and nike shin-pads... with white jersey + black shorts... matching ;)

they are professionals, who have a say on how the glove is made... what is avalible in shops is not nessicerially what they wear..

oh and especially in the case of the two keepers u pointed out, dudek has spines removed from his fingersaves and kahn has his own glove made

No but regular keepers like yourself could still stick to the one brand and buy say Nike, Adidas gloves if you wanted to, it's your choice. :)

Sticking to one brand is your choice depending on what you like it's not all about image you know, I normally go on what's more comfortable, im not going to get the most expensive boots in the shop if they hurt my feet.

but with the nike and adidas gloves, the quality isnt there... sure they have been improving over the years but i'd much rather a quality reusch glove for 30 pounds (e.g world elite) than pay 50 pounds for a pair of fingersaves that arnt comfortable.

I buy Predators for my out doors, and they kinda blow my budget. So I get a cheaper, but quality pair of Diadora Turfs, and I usually either get Puma or Adidas indoors... oh yeah my back-up out doors are Adidas DX-3's. I would perfer to either get all Adidas or Puma shoes, but I have found some quaility shoes from other brands, wich helps my budget. I have however got the same pair of outdoors, Turfs, and Indoors for the last few year, so if I find something that works I stick with it, as long as I can aford it.

I agree with you on the matching part... it's better to not look like a mis-matched, rag tag, school boy squad.

Does it really matter that much? I personally would prefer to get the best quality gear for the best possible price rather than focusing on stylish dress sense.

Who cares what you look like? Surely what matters is the scoreline...

People on this thread talk about match uniform iam talking about training kit, when you train or have a simple kick around with mates i believe having one brand looks better. And if you find a piece of clothing which you like whether its for looks or technology then surely all the other bits to go with it will be just as good :)

As i've said, it really doesn't matter what you look like it's how you perform! You could have all the expensive gear and still get taken on and made silly by a person who maybe hasn't got as much money and is wearing size 16 Hi-Tec squash trainers lol

Don't worry about how you look. What matters is how you play. It's very easy to get caught up in the whole "image" thing with the way companies adverise today. Remember that the brands want you to feel like you'll play better if you wear there gear. Don't get caught up in that and wear what works best for you. It is you that will get your-self to the top level, not your gear.
