There's not a more self obsessed , whiny, bitchy, group of fans in the world. Except maybe DC United. But thats another story.

I've just moved to Boston from Milwaukee 8 months ago, and my experience has been that the only thing that Red Sox fans whine about when it comes to "the Curse" is that they wish that the national media would shut up about the stupid $#@!# curse becasue noone in Boston believes it. Sorry, actually there are a few in Boston who talk about the curse, and they're columnists for the Boston Globe who are looking for an easy story, which also brings the ire of just about every Red Sox fan I've talked to.

From what I understand, Red Sox fans only talk about "the curse" when it hits. Otherwise it's all about beating the Yankees.

There is definitely a contingency who are, I won't disagree there. But most of us a good-hearted, and don't cry in our beers all off-season just because another year has passed us by. We love and support our team, and yes we hate the Yankees, but we just want to see our team succeed as much as fans of any other team.

I think its mostly the media that perpetuates the curse and all that garbage. Did you watch the ALCS on Fox last year? Was it really necessary to show the "World Series championships for each team since 1918" graphic fully 58 times during each game? That know thats the kind of crap that gets ratings, the whole David v Goliath scenario. It's an unfortunate side-effect of our reality TV-obsessed, black and white, good guys and bad guys era.

The curse is perpetuated, like in that HBO documentary, because people like Dan Shaughnessy, aka the "Curly Haired Boyfriend" (by far Carl Everett's best contribution to the Sox), have made a career out of it. There is no curse.

BINGO! I am so tempted to make this my sig. It's been all about poor management decisions and catering to stars above the team.

Just in the Boston area.

I'm gonna see it sometime this week, but I gotta finish something for school first.

He also broke up Mike Mussina's perfect game. Suck it, New York!

Hey, wasn't there going to be an American remake of Fever Pitch?
