While the real play-offs for the Cup are going on, today the other playoffs were settled and Washington Won. The 2004 draft order for the first 14 spots was settled.
do you guys think that Washington should take Alexander Ovechkin, as everyone in the world is saying they should? or is this kid just another busted volchkov. everyone says he is a franchise player a la kovalchuk, but better...
poor pittsburgh, though they could not have afforded this guy anyways, they lose their owner/captain for the year, a ton of games, their highly touted goaltender (to a 3 million dollar bonus) AND they do not get the top draft of the pick (which could yield Alexander Ovechkin, a great packaged deal, as florida has a huge interest in this guy, or another great player)
Order for the the 2004 NHL entry draft:
1. Washington Capitals
2. Pittsburgh Penguins
3. Chicago Blackhawks
4. Columbus Blue Jackets
5. Phoenix Coyotes
6. NY Rangers
7. Florida Panthers
8. Carolina Hurricanes
9. Mighty Ducks of Anaheim
10. Atlanta Thrashers
11. Los Angeles Kings
12. Minnesota Wild
13. Buffalo Sabres
14. Edmonton Oilers
