I would like to say an English team, but I think Real madrid are still Europe (and the worlds) undisputed champions.

When you say the "best" team, do you mean in my heart or on the field?

In my heart: Manchester United
On the field: Real Madrid, maybe Arsenal when at full strength.

I say AC Milan, not Real Madrid. Milan has a great team and a very strong defense. Reals defense ist very weak, and they have weaker subtitutes than most european top-teams.

I would rate like that.

1. AC Milan

2. Real Madrid

3. Juventus, Arsenal

4. Bayern, ManU, Barca, Chelsea

5. Inter, As Roma, Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool, Valencia

6. Lazio, Newcastle, Leverkusen, Lyon, Porto, Werder, Ajax, La Coruna

7. Celtic, Monaco, PSV, Feyenoord

and so on...

the question is "Who is the best team in the world?" and therfore, i assume the options should be from all over the world, and not only from europe. although the european teams are usually stronger than south american teams f.e, i still think teams like boca juniors or river plate should be mentioned as possblities.
and for the question itself, i believe AC Milan is the the best team in the world at the moment. not as the galgticos of Real Madrid, Milan is much more balanced and therefore you rarely see them lose games against weaker teams, like happend to real vs. zargoza etc.
FC Arsenal is another great team which is pretty much stable, but i believe Milan and Real potential is eventually higher.

Because Euros are worth more than pesos. And because teams like Bayern Munich look for South American players to improve themselves, while teams like Boca Juniors improve themselves by developing new talent.

AC Milan is the best team at the minute. I'd rank both them and Arsenal above Real Madrid in terms of quality.

Manchester United will always be the biggest club in the world, though. :)

hmm... are we still saying that now? Valencia is better than Depor and look who Depor beat yesterday, ok, one match does not count, but to come back from a 3 goal defecit against the champs is no small feat... if Roma faced Bayern they would be evenly matched, but yes, I should give the edge to Bayern... however Roma did so well in their league this season..

The top 3 teams in world all just suffered terrible defeats in the Champions League. Its a lot less clear cut than it was a week ago.

You sure are right, its why we play the games... I am glad that I had Depor where I had them because I was gonna put them 10th then thought better of it.. the sad thing is that this was an abboration, its not like Milan were playing poorly or had injury woes... too bad. I dont think that the winner of the tournament is always the best team because teams face different opponents and obstacles and there is always form, however you cannot discredit a win.. and thats what Porto, Monaco, and Deportivo all got... they are in the semis and they did it while being underdogs (Porto from earlier leg)

Oh, so Forlan and Kleberson are from another dimension? Cool. Do they have magical powers?

Its not just because I don't like Juve, but why are they being ranked so highly here? They went out tamely in the CL, are unlikely to overturn a big deficit in the Italian Cup, and will likely finish no better than second in the league.
They were great last year, but this year? Sorry - they don't make the top 10.
