So the club has no option on him, and Leeds are talking the talk. I think if they stay up in the Premiership it would be tougher to sign him, and the club may need to keep those alternatives handy. But if they go down I don't think they'll have a choice, he'll demand the move and they'll need the money.

Have to say i did wonder, the deal applied to the old chairman and not the new.
But if they go down, i expect him to go somewhere.. possibly us.

As a Leeds United fan, I am very happy about the possibility of NOT being relegated (thanks Liecester City!), and about the possibility of retaining Robbo, Smithy, and my personal favorite, Milner. BTW, savvy chester to Smith for the game winner. Milner is going to be very good.

Frey talking with seven
Saturday, 10 April 2004
by James Pearson
Sebastien Frey's representative Christian Payan has confirmed his client is holding talks with seven clubs, but as yet the interested parties are staying un-named.
Arsenal have been consistently linked with a move for the Parma star, however The Gunners will have to battle it out with a number of sides if they are to secure his signature.
Highbury boss Arsene Wenger brought in German international Jens Lehmann at the start of the season to replace David Seaman, however his displays have often been inconsistent.
Payan confirmed three of the interested parties are based in England, but as yet the clubs' names are not being confirmed in order to respect their current squad members.
"At the moment, I'm in talks with seven major teams in Europe for Sebastien Frey - three are in England," said Payan.
"The English press are saying 'talks are closed with Arsenal', but I think it's a tactic to establish my contact.
"Currently, the seven teams want to remain undisclosed to respect the current goalkeepers at their clubs."

Might one be us? 3 in England, so Man U? Arsenal? and Liverpool? Or us?

Could be, you'd think the club would be wasting their time, but given Parma's financial trouble it'd be worth an ask!
I don't think Liverpool is one of the three as they already have Dudek and Kirkland, even though Dudek is supposedly a bit unsettled and Kirkland injured a lot. ManYoo and certainly A*senal have to be two, they've both had a long standing interest in him and you'd expect them to move for him. The third could be Chelski, I heard when the Cech deal was made that Cudicini could be on his way back to Italy in the summer, and this would fit their transfer pattern to buy up every rival transfer target around, especially if ManYoo and A*senal are involved.

Arsenal, sure.
I'd be a bit surprised if it were ManUre or Liverpool.
Chelski would not surprise me, if only becuase of their seeming transfer policy. But that may change this summer.
I'm thinking the other two might be Spurs and Fulham, as Van de Sar is leaving after this season.

I think there are better keepers out there.
Landreau of Nantes.
Isaksson of Djurgarden impressed me for Sweden against England.
Hearing good things about Espen Johnsen of Rosenborg too.
