According to the "road report" (http://www.coloradorapids.com/site/goal.asp?cid=131), Spenny is expected to get some game time against the Burn. Since it sounds like they're being cautious with his knee, I bet he'll be coming in as a sub for Carrieri in maybe the 60th minute.

This may sound odd, but I hope we're trailing the Burn at whatever point Hankinson decides to put Spenny in -- maybe it'll be enough to convince him to run both Spenny and Carrieri at forward, with Hendo back in the midfield (where he excels and belongs).

Wooohooo! I've been going through Spenny withdrawals. I hope he comes back healthy and is able to help us out in the playoffs.

It would be cruel for Hanki to sit Carrieri, considering how much he has helped the rapids this year. I would hope he would move Hendo back and run Spenny and CC up front..No team has done well this year with a 4-5-1..I think CC has earned his spot on the starting 11. I would either move Hart, Kingsley, or CV out in th 60th. Unless were up by 2 or more goals

I agree. Both CC and Henderson have aearned their time and Spencer returning should run CV, Kingsley or possibly Hart to the bench.

On Sat at the Celtic, Spenny said he thought he could play this week...

Hart has to be the odd man out. Kingsley is the only player with any consistant energy and drive, we all know Pibe has compromising pictures of Hanki, so he won't sub. So the odd man out has to be Hart.

Unless, he decides Hendo or Chung need a rest. Which isn't all that out of bounds considering some of Hanki's personnel moves this year.

I'm just glad Stewart has finally got back in the lineup. I asked him after SJ on Saturday if he hit the "rookie wall." He said no and that Hanki was just trying to shake things up at the back. Interesting that he would take a rookie of the year candidate out, as well as, I felt, his most consistant defender (Kotschau), and leave the aging and feeble Fraser back there. Has Fraser done anything this year?

I'd just as soon have Spencer sit out one or two more to get 100% instead of loose him from coming back too soon. Save him for the playoffs (I think we can get a spot without him).

If Hankinson actually plans on starting both Carrieri and Spenny, then perhaps. Even then, defensive positions are spread thin with the loss of both Stewart and Titus through caution point accumulation; that considered, he'll be relying even more on his d-mids to stop the Burn attack. Throughout the season, Hankinson has tended towards a more defensive lineup than an attacking one, and thus if the Wee Scot is going to start I'd say Kingsley is the one to go.

The big question is whether or not Spenny is going to start... given that he hasn't played in a while and they've clearly been cautious with him, my bet is that he does come on as a sub for either Carrieri or Kingsley, with that decision based on who's making less of an impact in the match.

I wager we'll see the following lineup at kickof:

Hendo Carrieri
Chung Valderrama Kingsley
Hart Pablo
Kotschau Fraser Herdsman
Kramer

And if they choose to start Spenny, Kingsley sits and Hendo drops to wide right.

How about the possibility of dropping Pablo back and play a back four? Of course Tim H. has his mind made up, but the thought of what greenie proposed for the back three frightens me. Of course it's out of necessity with the suspensions, but I can picture Dallas wreaking havoc on a backline of Kotchau/Fraser/Herdsman.
